Abstract
La presente se relaciona con un revestimiento electrocatalítico y un electrodo que tiene el revestimiento sobre el mismo, donde el revestimiento de óxido de metales mixtos, preferentemente óxidos de metales del grupo platino, con o sin bajos niveles de óxidos de metales válvula. El revestimiento electrocatalítico puede ser utilizado especialmente como componente ánodo de una celda de electrólisis y, en especial, una celda para la electrólisis de soluciones acuosas cloro-alcalinas. Reivindicación 1: Un proceso para la producción de un electrodo electrolítico que tiene un revestimiento electrocatalítico aplicado al mismo, revestimiento electrocatalítico que tiene cantidades reducidas de óxidos de metal del grupo platino y que mantiene la durabilidad del revestimiento, proceso que comprende los siguientes pasos: producir una base de electrodo de metal válvula; revestir dicha base de electrodo de metal válvula con una capa de revestimiento de un revestimiento electroquímicamente activo sobre dicha base de electrodo de metal válvula, revestimiento este que comprende una mezcla de óxidos de metales del grupo platino y, optativamente, un óxido de metal válvula en una cantidad no superior a 25 por ciento en moles, sobre la base de 100 por ciento en moles del contenido de metal del revestimiento, mezcla ésta de óxidos de metales del grupo platino que consiste esencialmente en óxido de rutenio y óxido de iridio en una proporción que aporte de por lo menos aproximadamente 5 por ciento en moles a aproximadamente 50 por ciento en moles de rutenio y por lo menos aproximadamente 50 por ciento en moles a aproximadamente 95 por ciento en moles de iridio, sobre la base de 100 por ciento en moles de estos metales presentes en el revestimiento.
