Abstract
La presente invención proporciona un método para impartir tolerancia a un aminoácido análogo al triptofano en células de plantas, por medio deintroducir y expresar un segmento aislado de ADN que codifica una antranilato sintetasa en las célulasd e la planta. Se proveen asimismo plantas transgénicastransformadas con un segmento de ADN aislado que codifica una antranilato sintetasa, así como semillas y progenie derivada de esas plantas. Asimismoproporciona una secuencia de ADNc de unasu bunidad alfa y una subunidad beta de una antranilato sintetasa de maíz.
