また、例えばスマートフォンやデジタルカメラ等に使用される撮像レンズには、小型化薄型化のため複屈折の値を低く保ちながらも屈折率のさらなる向上が求められている。
本件第一発明は上記事情に鑑みてなされたものであり、高い屈折率を有しつつ、従来の樹脂材料よりもアッベ数を低めに調整可能な環状オレフィン系共重合体を提供するものである。
本発明者らの検討によれば、従来の環状オレフィン系樹脂を用いた医療用容器においては、電子線あるいはガンマ線照射によって変色が発生しうる場合があることが明らかになった。

まず、第一発明に係る実施形態の環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)について説明する。
本実施形態に係る環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)は、炭素原子数が2~20のα-オレフィンから導かれる構成単位(A)と、芳香環を有さない環状オレフィンから導かれる構成単位(B)と、芳香環を有する環状オレフィンから導かれる構成単位(C)と、を有する。
以上から、本実施形態に係る環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)によれば、高い屈折率を有しながら、従来の樹脂材料よりもアッベ数が低い成形体を得ることが可能となる。
本実施形態に係る構成単位(A)は炭素原子数が2~20のα-オレフィン由来の構成単位である。
ここで、炭素原子数が2~20のα-オレフィンとしては、直鎖状でも分岐状でもよく、エチレン、プロピレン、1-ブテン、1-ペンテン、1-ヘキセン、1-オクテン、1-デセン、1-ドデセン、1-テトラデセン、1-ヘキサデセン、1-オクタデセン、1-エイコセン等の炭素原子数が2~20の直鎖状α-オレフィン;3-メチル-1-ブテン、3-メチル-1-ペンテン、3-エチル-1-ペンテン、4-メチル-1-ペンテン、4-メチル-1-ヘキセン、4,4-ジメチル-1-ヘキセン、4,4-ジメチル-1-ペンテン、4-エチル-1-ヘキセン、3-エチル-1-ヘキセン等の炭素原子数が4~20の分岐状α-オレフィン等が挙げられる。これらの中では、炭素原子数が2~4の直鎖状α-オレフィンが好ましく、エチレンが特に好ましい。このような直鎖状または分岐状のα-オレフィンは、1種単独でまたは2種以上を組み合わせて用いることができる。
上記構成単位(A)の含有量が上記下限値以上であることにより、得られる成形体の耐熱性や寸法安定性を向上させることができる。また、上記構成単位(A)の含有量が上記上限値以下であることにより、得られる成形体の透明性等を向上させることができる。
本実施形態において、構成単位(A)の含有量は、例えば、1H-NMRまたは13C-NMRによって測定することができる。
本実施形態に係る構成単位(B)は芳香環を有さない環状オレフィン由来の構成単位である。本実施形態に係る構成単位(B)としては、得られる成形体の屈折率をさらに向上させる観点から、下記式(B-1)で示される化合物由来の構成単位を含むことが好ましい。
これらの中でも、本実施形態に係る構成単位(B)としては、ビシクロ[2.2.1]-2-ヘプテン由来の構成単位、テトラシクロ[4.4.0.12,5.17,10]-3-ドデセン由来の構成単位およびヘキサシクロ[6,6,1,13,6,110,13,02,7,09,14]ヘプタデセン-4由来の構成単位等から選択される少なくとも一種の構成単位を含むことが好ましく、ビシクロ[2.2.1]-2-ヘプテン由来の構成単位およびテトラシクロ[4.4.0.12,5.17,10]-3-ドデセン由来の構成単位から選択される少なくとも一種の構成単位を含むことがより好ましく、テトラシクロ[4.4.0.12,5.17,10]-3-ドデセン由来の構成単位を含むことが特に好ましい。
本実施形態に係る構成単位(C)は芳香環を有する環状オレフィン由来の構成単位である。
本実施形態に係る芳香環を有する環状オレフィンとしては、例えば、下記式(C-1)で示される化合物、下記式(C-2)で示される化合物、下記式(C-3)で示される化合物等が挙げられる。これらの芳香環を有する環状オレフィンは、一種単独で用いてもよいし、二種以上を組み合わせて用いてもよい。
R1~R17はそれぞれ独立に、水素原子、フッ素原子を除くハロゲン原子、またはフッ素原子を除くハロゲン原子で置換されていてもよい炭素原子数1~20の炭化水素基であり、R10~R17のうち一つは結合手であり、R15が結合手であることが好ましい。
R1~R17はそれぞれ独立に水素原子または炭素原子数1~20の炭化水素基であることが好ましく、水素原子であることがより好ましい。
またq=0のときR10とR11、R11とR12、R12とR13、R13とR14、R14とR15、R15とR10は互いに結合して単環または多環を形成していてもよく、またq=1または2のときR10とR11、R11とR17、R17とR17、R17とR12、R12とR13、R13とR14、R14とR15、R15とR16、R16とR16、R16とR10は互いに結合して単環または多環を形成していてもよく、また上記単環または上記多環が二重結合を有していてもよく、上記単環または上記多環が芳香族環であってもよい。
上記式(C-1)の中でも、下記式(C-1A)で示される化合物が好ましい。
R18~R31はそれぞれ独立に、水素原子、フッ素原子を除くハロゲン原子、またはフッ素原子を除くハロゲン原子で置換されていてもよい炭素原子数1~20の炭化水素基である。
R18~R31はそれぞれ独立に水素原子または炭素原子数1~20の炭化水素基であることが好ましく、水素原子であることがより好ましい。
またq=1のときR28とR29、R29とR30、R30とR31は互いに結合して単環または多環を形成していてもよく、またq=2または3のときR28とR28、R28とR29、R29とR30、R30とR31、R31とR31は互いに結合して単環または多環を形成していてもよく、上記単環または上記多環が二重結合を有していてもよく、また上記単環または上記多環が芳香族環であってもよい。
R32~R39はそれぞれ独立に、水素原子、フッ素原子を除くハロゲン原子、またはフッ素原子を除くハロゲン原子で置換されていてもよい炭素原子数1~20の炭化水素基である。
R32~R39はそれぞれ独立に水素原子または炭素原子数1~20の炭化水素基であることが好ましく、水素原子であることがより好ましい。
またq=1のときR36とR37、R37とR38、R38とR39は互いに結合して単環または多環を形成していてもよく、またq=2または3のときR36とR36、R36とR37、R37とR38、R38とR39、R39とR39は互いに結合して単環または多環を形成していてもよく、上記単環または上記多環が二重結合を有していてもよく、また上記単環または上記多環が芳香族環であってもよい。
上記構成単位(C)の含有量が上記下限値以上であることにより、得られる成形体において、高い屈折率としつつ、アッベ数をさらに低くすることができる。また、上記構成単位(C)の含有量が上記上限値以下であることにより、得られる成形体の屈折率およびアッベ数のバランスをより良好にすることができる。
本実施形態において、構成単位(B)および構成単位(C)の含有量は、例えば、1H-NMRまたは13C-NMRによって測定することができる。
屈折率が上記範囲内であると、本実施形態に係る環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)を用いて得られる成形体の光学特性を良好に保ちつつ、厚みをより薄くすることができる。
上記射出成形シートのアッベ数(ν)は、当該射出成形シートの23℃下での波長486nm、589nmおよび656nmの屈折率から、下記式を用いて算出することができる。

本実施形態において、上記射出成形シートの複屈折は、王子計測機器社製のKOBRA CCDを用いて、測定波長650nmで測定される、ゲート方向から20~35mmの位相差の平均値である。
本実施形態に係る環状オレフィン系共重合体組成物は、本実施形態に係る環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)を含み、必要に応じて、環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)以外のその他の成分を含んでもよい。なお、本実施形態において、本実施形態に係る環状オレフィン系共重合体組成物が環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)のみしか含まない場合も環状オレフィン系共重合体組成物と呼ぶ。
親水性安定剤は、脂肪酸と多価アルコールとの脂肪酸エステルが好ましい。脂肪酸とエーテル基を1つ以上有する多価アルコールとの脂肪酸エステルがより好ましい。
脂肪酸とエーテル基を1つ以上有する多価アルコールとの脂肪酸エステルは、脂肪酸と、エーテル基を1つ以上有する多価アルコールとのエステルである。なお、多価アルコールのエーテル基は、エステル基中のエーテル基を含まない。
エーテル基を1つ以上有する多価アルコールとしては、モノグリセリン、ジグリセリン、トリグリセリン、テトラグリセリン、ソルビタン等を挙げることができる。
本実施形態において、脂肪酸エステルは、モノグリセリン脂肪酸エステル、ジグリセリン脂肪酸エステル、トリグリセリン脂肪酸エステルを含むことが好ましい。ジグリセリン脂肪酸エステルは、ジグリセリンに含まれる4つのヒドロキシ基の少なくとも1つが脂肪酸とエステル化したものである。
本実施形態において、ジグリセリン脂肪酸エステルは、ジグリセリンと、上記から選択される炭素数12~18の飽和または不飽和脂肪酸とのエステルであることが好ましい。
本実施形態に係るトリグリセリン脂肪酸エステルは、トリグリセリンに含まれる5つのヒドロキシ基の少なくとも1つが脂肪酸とエステル化したものである。
本実施形態に係るトリグリセリン脂肪酸エステルは、トリグリセリンと炭素数8以上24以下の飽和または不飽和脂肪酸とのエステルを含むことが好ましく、トリグリセリンと炭素数12以上18以下の飽和または不飽和脂肪酸とのエステルを含むことがより好ましい。
このようなトリグリセリン脂肪酸エステルとしては、例えば、特開2006-232714号公報、特開2002-275308号公報、特開平10-165152号公報等に記載の化合物を用いることができる。
本実施形態に係る親水性安定剤の市販品としては、例えば、リケマールDO-100(理研ビタミン社製)、エキセパールPE-MS(花王社製)などが挙げられる。
本実施形態に係る環状オレフィン系共重合体組成物において、親水性安定剤の含有量の下限は、環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)100質量部に対して、0.05質量部以上であることが好ましく、0.4質量部以上であることがより好ましい。親水性安定剤の含有量の上限は環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)100質量部に対して、3.0質量部以下であることが好ましく、2.5質量部以下であることがより好ましく、1.2質量部以下であることがさらに好ましい。
本実施形態に係る成形体は、本実施形態に係る環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)または環状オレフィン系共重合体組成物を含む成形体である。
本実施形態に係る成形体は、本実施形態に係る環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)を含むため、耐熱性、透明性、ヘイズ、複屈折、耐薬品性および低吸湿性等のバランスに優れるとともに、さらに高い屈折率を有しつつ、従来の樹脂材料よりも低いアッベ数を示す。そのため、光学レンズの用途に好適である。
撮像用レンズのユニットは、アッベ数及び屈折率の異なる複数のレンズで構成されており、一般的に、アッベ数が大きいレンズと、アッベ数が小さいレンズを複数枚組み合わせている。本実施形態に係る成形体は、高アッベ数と低アッベ数の中間領域に該当するレンズとして好適に用いることができ、レンズユニットの設計の自由度を向上しうる。
すなわち、本実施形態に係る光学レンズ系は、本実施形態に係る環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)を含む成形体により構成された第1の光学レンズと、上記第1の光学レンズとは異なる第2の光学レンズと、備える。
また、第一発明は前述の実施形態に限定されるものではなく、第一発明の目的を達成できる範囲での変形、改良等は第一発明に含まれるものである。

まず、第二発明に係る実施形態の環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)について説明する。
本実施形態に係る環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)は、炭素原子数が2~20のα-オレフィンから導かれる構成単位(A)と、芳香環を有さない環状オレフィンから導かれる構成単位(B)と、芳香環を有する環状オレフィンから導かれる構成単位(C)と、を有する。
以上から、本実施形態に係る環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)によれば、電子線あるいはガンマ線照射による変色が少なく、かつ、透明性に優れる医療用容器を得ることが可能となる。

本実施形態に係る芳香環を有する環状オレフィンとしては、例えば、下記式(C-1)で示される化合物、下記式(C-2)で示される化合物、下記式(C-3)で示される化合物等が挙げられる。これらの芳香環を有する環状オレフィンは、一種単独で用いてもよいし、二種以上を組み合わせて用いてもよい。
R1~R17はそれぞれ独立に、水素原子、フッ素原子を除くハロゲン原子、またはフッ素原子を除くハロゲン原子で置換されていてもよい炭素原子数1~20の炭化水素基であり、R10~R17のうち一つは結合手であり、R15が結合手であることが好ましい。
R1~R17はそれぞれ独立に水素原子または炭素原子数1~20の炭化水素基であることが好ましく、水素原子であることがより好ましい。
またq=0のときR10とR11、R11とR12、R12とR13、R13とR14、R14とR15、R15とR10は互いに結合して単環または多環を形成していてもよく、またq=1または2のときR10とR11、R11とR17、R17とR17、R17とR12、R12とR13、R13とR14、R14とR15、R15とR16、R16とR16、R16とR10は互いに結合して単環または多環を形成していてもよく、また上記単環または上記多環が二重結合を有していてもよく、上記単環または上記多環が芳香族環であってもよい。
上記式(C-1)の中でも、下記式(C-1A)で示される化合物が好ましい。
R18~R31はそれぞれ独立に、水素原子、フッ素原子を除くハロゲン原子、またはフッ素原子を除くハロゲン原子で置換されていてもよい炭素原子数1~20の炭化水素基である。
R18~R31はそれぞれ独立に水素原子または炭素原子数1~20の炭化水素基であることが好ましく、水素原子であることがより好ましい。
またq=1のときR28とR29、R29とR30、R30とR31は互いに結合して単環または多環を形成していてもよく、またq=2または3のときR28とR28、R28とR29、R29とR30、R30とR31、R31とR31は互いに結合して単環または多環を形成していてもよく、上記単環または上記多環が二重結合を有していてもよく、また上記単環または上記多環が芳香族環であってもよい。
R32~R39はそれぞれ独立に、水素原子、フッ素原子を除くハロゲン原子、またはフッ素原子を除くハロゲン原子で置換されていてもよい炭素原子数1~20の炭化水素基である。
R32~R39はそれぞれ独立に水素原子または炭素原子数1~20の炭化水素基であることが好ましく、水素原子であることがより好ましい。
またq=1のときR36とR37、R37とR38、R38とR39は互いに結合して単環または多環を形成していてもよく、またq=2または3のときR36とR36、R36とR37、R37とR38、R38とR39、R39とR39は互いに結合して単環または多環を形成していてもよく、上記単環または上記多環が二重結合を有していてもよく、また上記単環または上記多環が芳香族環であってもよい。
本実施形態において、構成単位(C)の含有量は、例えば、1H-NMRまたは13C-NMRによって測定することができる。
本実施形態において、構成単位(B)および構成単位(C)の含有量は、例えば、1H-NMRまたは13C-NMRによって測定することができる。
極限粘度[η]が上記下限値以上であると、医療用容器の機械的強度を向上させることができる。また、極限粘度[η]が上記上限値以下であると、成形性を向上させることができる。
本実施形態に係る環状オレフィン系共重合体組成物は医療用容器を形成するための環状オレフィン系共重合体組成物であって、本実施形態に係る環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)を含み、必要に応じて、環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)以外のその他の成分を含んでもよい。なお、本実施形態において、本実施形態に係る環状オレフィン系共重合体組成物が環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)のみしか含まない場合も環状オレフィン系共重合体組成物と呼ぶ。
本実施形態に係る環状オレフィン系共重合体組成物は、環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)を上記の比率で含むことにより、得られる医療用容器について、医療用容器に求められる良好な透明性を満足しながら、耐ガンマ線または耐電子線性能をより一層向上させることができる。
本実施形態に係る環状オレフィン系共重合体組成物には、必要に応じて、耐候安定剤、耐熱安定剤、酸化防止剤、金属不活性化剤、塩酸吸収剤、帯電防止剤、難燃剤、スリップ剤、アンチブロッキング剤、防曇剤、滑剤、天然油、合成油、ワックス、有機または無機の充填剤等を本発明の目的を損なわない程度に配合することができ、その配合割合は適宜量である。
ヒンダードアミン系化合物[D](以下、単に、化合物[D]、あるいは、[D]とも表記する)としては、ヒンダードアミン構造(具体的には、以下の式(b1)で表される部分構造)を、1つまたは2つ以上有する化合物を適宜用いることができる。
式(b1)中、*は、他の化学構造との結合手を表す。
770(以上、BASF社製)、Cyasorb UV-3853、Cyasorb UV-3529、Cyasorb UV-3346、Cyasorb UV-531(以上、Cytec社製)、アデカスタブ LA-52、アデカスタブ LA-57、アデカスタブ LA-63P、アデカスタブ LA-68、アデカスタブ LA-72、アデカスタブ LA-77Y、アデカスタブ LA-81、アデカスタブ LA-82、アデカスタブ LA-87(以上、ADEKA社製)等の市販品を用いることができる。
この化合物は、典型的にはポリマーまたはオリゴマーである。この化合物のような、ポリマーまたはオリゴマーである化合物[D]を用いることで、環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)との相溶性を高められ、組成物をより均一にすることができると考えられる。また、照射により特性吸収を有するような構造に変化しにくいと考えられる。これにより、電子線あるいはガンマ線照射による変色をより少なくし、また、電子線あるいはガンマ線照射によるラジカルの発生をより少なくできると考えられる。
X1およびX2の2価の連結基としては、アルキレン基、シクロアルキレン基、アリーレン基、これらの基が連結された基、などを挙げることができる。これらの中でも、アルキレン基が好ましく、炭素数1~6のアルキレン基がより好ましく、炭素数1~4のアルキレン基がより好ましい。
一般式(b2)で表される構造単位を有する化合物については、市販品を用いてもよいし、対応するジオールおよびジカルボン酸などを縮重合させることで得てもよい。
組成物中の化合物[D]の含有量は、環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)の含有量を100質量部としたとき、例えば0.01~2.0質量部、好ましくは0.05~1.5質量部、より好ましくは0.10~1.0質量部である。この範囲とすることで、他の性能(例えば成形性や機械強度など)を維持しつつ、電子線あるいはガンマ線照射による変色、ラジカルの発生などを効果的に低減することができる。
使用可能なリン系化合物[E](以下、単に、化合物[E]、または、[E]とのみ表記することもある)については、特に制限は無い。例えば、公知のリン系酸化防止剤を用いることができる。
具体的には、トリフェニルホスファイト、ジフェニルイソデシルホスファイト、フェニルジイソデシルホスファイト、トリス(ノニルフェニル)ホスファイト、トリス(ジノニルフェニル)ホスファイト、トリス(2,4-ジ-t-ブチルフェニル)ホスファイト、トリス(2-t-ブチル-4-メチルフェニル)ホスファイト、トリス(シクロヘキシルフェニル)ホスファイト、2,2-メチレンビス(4,6-ジ-t-ブチルフェニル)オクチルホスファイト、9,10-ジヒドロ-9-オキサ-10-ホスファフェナントレン-10-オキサイド、10-(3,5-ジ-t-ブチル-4-ヒドロキシベンジル)-9,10-ジヒドロ-9-オキサ-10-ホスファフェナントレン-10-オキサイド、10-デシロキシ-9,10-ジヒドロ-9-オキサ-10-ホスファフェナントレンなどのモノホスファイト系化合物;4,4’-ブチリデン-ビス(3-メチル-6-t-ブチルフェニル-ジ-トリデシルホスファイト)、4,4’-イソプロピリデン-ビス(フェニル-ジ-アルキル(C12~C15)ホスファイト)、4,4’-イソプロピリデン-ビス(ジフェニルモノアルキル(C12~C15)ホスファイト)、1,1,3-トリス(2-メチル-4-ジ-トリデシルホスファイト-5-t-ブチルフェニル)ブタン、テトラキス(2,4-ジ-t-ブチルフェニル)-4,4’-ビフェニレンジホスファイト、サイクリックネオペンタンテトライルビス(イソデシルホスファイト)、サイクリックネオペンタンテトライルビス(ノニルフェニルホスファイト)、サイクリックネオペンタンテトライルビス(2,4-ジ-t-ブチルフェニルホスファイト)、サイクリックネオペンタンテトライルビス(2,4-ジメチルフェニルホスファイト)、サイクリックネオペンタンテトライルビス(2,6-ジ-t-ブチルフェニルホスファイト)などのジホスファイト系化合物などが挙げられる。
より具体的には、化合物[E]は、好ましくは、下記一般式(c1)、(c2)または(c3)で表される化合物である。
R1は、複数ある場合はそれぞれ独立に、アルキル基を表し、
R2は、複数ある場合はそれぞれ独立に、芳香族基を表し、
R3は、アルキル基、シクロアルキル基、アリール基またはアラルキル基を表し、
Xは、単結合または2価の連結基を表す。
R2の芳香族基としては、フェニル基、ナフチル基、これらがアルキル基等で置換された基などが挙げられる。
R3の炭素数は、好ましくは1~30、より好ましくは3~20、さらに好ましくは6~18である。
R3として好ましくはアリール基またはアラルキル基であり、より好ましくはアラルキル基である。これらアリール基またはアラルキル基は、さらに置換基(例えば、炭素数1~6のアルキル基やヒドロキシ基など)で置換されていてもよい。
Xが2価の連結基である場合、その具体例としては、アルキレン基(メチレン基など)やエーテル基(-O-)などが挙げられる。Xとして好ましくは単結合である。
組成物中の化合物[E]の含有量は、環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)の量を100質量部としたとき、例えば0.01~1.5質量部、好ましくは0.02~1.0質量部、より好ましくは0.05~0.5質量部である。この範囲とすることで、他の性能(例えば成形性や機械強度など)を維持しつつ、電子線あるいはガンマ線照射による変色、ラジカルの発生などを効果的に低減することができる。
次に、本発明に係る実施形態の医療用容器について説明する。
本実施形態に係る医療用容器は環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)または本実施形態に係る環状オレフィン系共重合体組成物を含んでいる。
本実施形態に係る医療用容器は環状オレフィン系共重合体(P)を含むため、透明性および、耐ガンマ線または耐電子線性能の性能バランスに優れている。この医療用容器は、電子線あるいはガンマ線照射による変色が少ない。
ここで、本発明者らの別の検討によれば、従来の医療用容器は、電子線あるいはガンマ線照射によってラジカルが発生する場合があることが明らかになった。これにより、医療用容器に内容物の充填後に内容物が変質するリスクがあることが懸念される。
これに対して、本実施形態に係る医療用容器は、電子線あるいはガンマ線照射によるラジカルの発生量を少なくすることができる。そのため、本実施形態に係る医療用容器によれば、内容物が変質するリスクを低減することが可能である。
また、さらに光線透過率が良好であることが好ましい。光線透過率は用途に応じて分光光線透過率または全光線透過率により規定される。
なお、公知の反射防止膜を表面に設けることにより、光線透過率をさらに向上させることができる。
また、第二発明は前述の実施形態に限定されるものではなく、第二発明の目的を達成できる範囲での変形、改良等は本発明に含まれるものである。

なお、当然ながら、上述した本件各発明は、その内容が相反しない範囲で組み合わせることができる。
以下、本件第一発明を実施例に基づいて具体的に説明するが、本件第一発明はこれらの実施例に限定されるものではない。
[製造例1]
攪拌装置を備えた容積500mlのガラス製反応容器に不活性ガスとして窒素を100Nl/hrの流量で30分間流通させた後、シクロヘキサン、テトラシクロ[4.4.0.12,5.17,10]-3-ドデセン(40mmol、以下、テトラシクロドデセンとも呼ぶ。)、およびベンゾノルボルナジエン(88mmol、以下、BNBDとも呼ぶ。)を加えた。次いで回転数600rpmで重合溶媒を攪拌しながら溶媒温度を50℃に昇温した。溶媒温度が所定の温度に達した後、流通ガスを窒素からエチレンに切り替え、エチレンを50Nl/hr、水素を2.0Nl/hrの供給速度で反応容器に流通させ、10分経過した後に、PMAO(1.8mmol)、特開2010-241932号公報の段落0112に記載の方法で調製した触媒(0.0030mmol)をガラス製反応容器に添加し、重合を開始させた。
10分間経過した後、イソブチルアルコールを5ml添加して重合を停止させ、エチレン、テトラシクロドデセンおよびBNBDの共重合体を含む重合溶液を得た。その後、重合溶液を別に用意した容積2Lのビーカーに移液し、さらに濃塩酸5mlと攪拌子を加え、強攪拌下で2時間接触させ脱灰操作を行った。この重合溶液に対して体積で約3倍のアセトンを入れたビーカーに脱灰後の重合溶液を攪拌下加えて共重合体を析出させ、さらに析出した共重合体を濾過により濾液と分離した。得られた溶媒を含む重合体を130℃で10時間減圧乾燥を行ったところ、白色パウダー状のエチレン・テトラシクロドデセン・BNBD共重合体4.58gが得られた。
以上により、環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-1)を得た。
環状オレフィン系共重合体を構成する各構成単位の含有量の値が表1に記載の値になるように調整した以外は、製造例1と同様に操作を行い、表1に記載の環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-2)~(P-11)をそれぞれ得た。
また、環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-10)と環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-11)を質量比1:1で混合することにより環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-12)を作製した(製造例12)。
ここで、表1におけるBNBDは下記式(1)で示されるベンゾノルボルナジエンを意味し、IndNBは下記式(2)で示されるインデンノルボルネンを意味する。MePhNBは下記式(3)で示されるメチルフェニルノルボルネンを意味する。
各実施例および比較例において、各種物性は下記の方法によって測定または評価し、得られた結果を表2に示した。
エチレン、テトラシクロ[4.4.0.12,5.17,10]-3-ドデセンおよび芳香環を有する環状オレフィンの含有量は、日本電子社製「ECA500型」核磁気共鳴装置を用い、下記条件で測定することにより行った。

パルス繰り返し時間:5.5秒
積算回数:6000~16000回
測定温度:120℃
上記のような条件で測定した13C-NMRスペクトルにより、エチレン、テトラシクロドデセンおよび芳香環を有する環状オレフィンの組成をそれぞれ定量した。
島津サイエンス社製、DSC-6220を用いてN2(窒素)雰囲気下で環状オレフィン系共重合体のガラス転移温度Tgを測定した。環状オレフィン系共重合体を常温から10℃/分の昇温速度で200℃まで昇温した後に5分間保持し、次いで10℃/分の降温速度で-20℃まで降温した後に5分間保持した。そして10℃/分の昇温速度で200℃まで昇温する際の吸熱曲線から環状オレフィン系共重合体のガラス転移点(Tg)を求めた。
移動粘度計(離合社製、タイプVNR053U型)を用い、環状オレフィン系共重合体の0.25~0.30gを25mlのデカリンに溶解させたものを試料とした。ASTM J1601に準じ135℃にて環状オレフィン系共重合体の比粘度を測定し、これと濃度との比を濃度0に外挿して環状オレフィン系共重合体の極限粘度[η]を求めた。
製造例1~10および12の環状オレフィン系共重合体を、Xplore Instruments社製の小型混練機を用いて、混練温度=280℃、50rpmで5分間混練後、Xplore Instruments社製の射出成形機を用いて、シリンダー温度280℃、射出圧力=12~15bar、金型温度135℃の条件にて射出成形し、厚み1.0mmの射出成形シートをそれぞれ作製した。
マイクロコンパウンダーで成形した30mm×30mm×厚み1.0mmの射出成形シートを用いて、ベンジルアルコールを使用し、JIS K7136に基づいて測定した。次いで、以下の基準で内部ヘイズをそれぞれ評価した。
○:5%未満
×:5%以上
マイクロコンパウンダーで成形した30mm×30mm×厚み1.0mmの射出成形シートについて、王子計測機器社製のKOBRA CCDを用いて、測定波長650nmで、ゲート方向から20~35mmの位相差の平均値を求めた。
次いで、以下の基準で複屈折をそれぞれ評価した。
◎:位相差の平均値が30nm未満
○:位相差の平均値が30nm以上40nm未満
×:位相差の平均値が40nm以上
屈折率計(島津サイエンス社製 KPR200)を用いて、ASTM D542に準じて、マイクロコンパウンダーで成形した30mm×30mm×厚み1.0mmの射出成形シートの波長589nmにおける屈折率(nd)をそれぞれ測定した。
マイクロコンパウンダーで成形した30mm×30mm×厚み1.0mmの射出成形シートについて、アッベ屈折計を用い、23℃下での波長486nm、589nmおよび656nmの屈折率を測定し、さらに下記式を用いてアッベ数(ν)を算出した。

親水性安定剤として、トリグリセリン脂肪酸エステル(トリグリセリンとオレイン酸とのエステルであるトリグリセリンオレート(モノエステルとジエステルとトリエステルの混合物、エステル比はモノエステル41%、ジエステル49%、トリエステル10%))を100℃で4時間加熱した溶融状態で、環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-1)100質量部に対して0.6質量部の量で直接押出機に装入し、環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-1)とトリグリセリンとオレイン酸とのエステルの蒸留品を含んでなる樹脂組成物を得た。
具体的には、同方向回転、スクリュー径12mmφ、樹脂装入部からL/D=34の位置にベント孔があるL/D=48の二軸押出機を用い、環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-1)を樹脂装入部より装入し、次いで、80~120℃で加温溶融させた上記トリグリセリン脂肪酸エステルをベント孔から装入し、スクリュー回転数150rpm、モータ動力2.2kWの条件で溶融混練し、樹脂組成物を得た。
得られた樹脂組成物について、実施例1と同様の方法でガラス転移温度、極限粘度[η]を測定した。結果を表3に示す。
表3に記載のように、トリグリセリン脂肪酸エステルを環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-1)100質量部に対し0.8質量部の量で用いた以外は実施例10と同様にして樹脂組成物を調製した。
得られた樹脂組成物について、実施例1と同様の方法でガラス転移温度、極限粘度[η]を測定した。結果を表3に示す。
表3に記載のように、トリグリセリン脂肪酸エステルを環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-1)100質量部に対し1.0質量部の量で用いた以外は実施例10と同様にして樹脂組成物を調製した。
得られた樹脂組成物について、実施例1と同様の方法でガラス転移温度、極限粘度[η]を測定した。結果を表3に示す。
表3に記載のように、親水性安定剤としてトリグリセリン脂肪酸エステルに変えてリケマールDO-100(理研ビタミン社製、主成分はジグリセリンモノオレート)を環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-1)100質量部に対し0.6質量部の量で用いた以外は実施例10と同様にして樹脂組成物を調製した。
得られた樹脂組成物について、実施例1と同様の方法でガラス転移温度、極限粘度[η]を測定した。結果を表3に示す。
表3に記載のように、親水性安定剤としてトリグリセリン脂肪酸エステルに変えてリケマールDO-100を環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-1)100質量部に対し1.0質量部の量で用いた以外は実施例10と同様にして樹脂組成物を調製した。
得られた樹脂組成物について、実施例1と同様の方法でガラス転移温度、極限粘度[η]を測定した。結果を表3に示す。
表3に記載のように、親水性安定剤としてトリグリセリン脂肪酸エステルに変えてエキセパールPE-MS(花王社製、主成分はペンタエリスリトールモノステアレート)を環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-1)100質量部に対し1.8質量部の量で用いた以外は実施例10と同様にして樹脂組成物を調製した。
得られた樹脂組成物について、実施例1と同様の方法でガラス転移温度、極限粘度[η]を測定した。結果を表3に示す。
表3に記載のように、親水性安定剤としてトリグリセリン脂肪酸エステルに変えてエキセパールPE-MSを環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-1)100質量部に対し2.4質量部の量で用いた以外は実施例10と同様にして樹脂組成物を調製した。
得られた樹脂組成物について、実施例1と同様の方法でガラス転移温度、極限粘度[η]を測定した。結果を表3に示す。
表3に記載のように、環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-1)に変えて環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-5)を用いた以外は実施例10と同様にして樹脂組成物を調製した。
得られた樹脂組成物について、実施例1と同様の方法でガラス転移温度、極限粘度[η]を測定した。結果を表3に示す。
表3に記載のように、環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-1)に変えて環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-5)を用いた以外は実施例12と同様にして樹脂組成物を調製した。
得られた樹脂組成物について、実施例1と同様の方法でガラス転移温度、極限粘度[η]を測定した。結果を表3に示す。
表3に記載のように、環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-1)に変えて環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-8)を用いた以外は実施例10と同様にして樹脂組成物を調製した。
得られた樹脂組成物について、実施例1と同様の方法でガラス転移温度、極限粘度[η]を測定した。結果を表3に示す。
表3に記載のように、環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-1)に変えて環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-8)を用いた以外は実施例12と同様にして樹脂組成物を調製した。
得られた樹脂組成物について、実施例1と同様の方法でガラス転移温度、極限粘度[η]を測定した。結果を表3に示す。
(成形体の製造方法)
射出成形機(メイホー社製 Micro-2)を用いて、シリンダー温度320℃で、樹脂組成物を射出成形し、25mm×25mm×厚み2mmtの成形体(テストピース)をそれぞれ作製した。金型温度は135℃に設定した。
屈折率計(島津サイエンス社製 KPR3000)を用いて、ASTM D542に準じて、成形した25mm×25mm×厚み2mmtのテストピースの波長486nm、589nmおよび656nmにおける屈折率(nd)を測定した。さらに下記式を用いてアッベ数(ν)を算出した。結果を表2に示す。

成形体の内部ヘイズを、ベンジルアルコールを使用し、JIS K-7136に基づいて測定した。次いで、以下の基準で内部ヘイズをそれぞれ評価した。結果を表2に示す。

成形した25mm×25mm×厚み2mmtのテストピースについて、王子計測機器社製のKOBRA CCDを用いて、測定波長650nmで、ゲート方向から20~35mmの位相差の平均値を求めた。結果を表2に示す。
次いで、以下の基準で複屈折をそれぞれ評価した。
◎:位相差の平均値が10nm未満
○:位相差の平均値が10nm以上20nm未満
×:位相差の平均値が20nm以上
成形した25mm×25mm×厚み2mmtのテストピースを温度85℃、相対湿度85%の雰囲気下に48時間放置した。その後取り出し、温度23℃、相対湿度50%の雰囲気下に48時間放置後にヘイズを測定した。結果を表2に示す。
環境試験後のヘイズから環境試験前のヘイズを差し引いた変化量(以下、Δヘイズ)を以下の基準でそれぞれ評価した。

攪拌装置を備えた容積500mlのガラス製反応容器に不活性ガスとして窒素を100Nl/hrの流量で30分間流通させた後、シクロヘキサン、テトラシクロ[4.4.0.12,5.17,10]-3-ドデセン(19mmol、以下、テトラシクロドデセンとも呼ぶ。)、およびインデンノルボルネン(8.0mmol、以下、IndNBとも呼ぶ。)を加えた。次いで回転数600rpmで重合溶媒を攪拌しながら溶媒温度を50℃に昇温した。溶媒温度が所定の温度に達した後、流通ガスを窒素からエチレンに切り替え、エチレンを50Nl/hr、水素を0.5Nl/hrの供給速度で反応容器に流通させ、10分経過した後に、MMAO(Modified MethylAluminoxane)(0.9mmol)、特開2010-241932号公報の段落0112に記載の方法で調製した触媒(0.0030mmol)をガラス製反応容器に添加し、重合を開始させた。
10分間経過した後、イソブチルアルコールを5ml添加して重合を停止させ、エチレン、テトラシクロドデセンおよびIndNBの共重合体を含む重合溶液を得た。その後、重合溶液を別に用意した容積2Lのビーカーに移液し、さらに濃塩酸5mlと攪拌子を加え、強攪拌下で2時間接触させ脱灰操作を行った。この重合溶液に対して体積で約3倍のアセトンを入れたビーカーに脱灰後の重合溶液を攪拌下加えて共重合体を析出させ、さらに析出した共重合体を濾過により濾液と分離した。得られた溶媒を含む重合体を130℃で10時間減圧乾燥を行ったところ、白色パウダー状のエチレン・テトラシクロドデセン・インデンノルボルネン共重合体0.58gが得られた。
以上により、環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-13)を得た。
環状オレフィン系共重合体を構成する各構成単位の含有量の値が表4に記載の値になるように調整した以外は、製造例13と同様に操作を行い、表4に記載の環状オレフィン系共重合体(P-14)~(P-21)をそれぞれ得た。
ここで、表4におけるBNBDは下記式(1)で示されるベンゾノルボルナジエンを意味し、IndNBは下記式(2)で示されるインデンノルボルネンを意味する。MePhNBは下記式(3)で示されるメチルフェニルノルボルネンを意味する。
各実施例および比較例において、各種物性は下記の方法によって測定または評価し、得られた結果を表4に示した。
エチレン、テトラシクロ[4.4.0.12,5.17,10]-3-ドデセンおよび芳香環を有する環状オレフィンの含有量は、日本電子社製「ECA500型」核磁気共鳴装置を用い、下記条件で測定することにより行った。
溶媒:重テトラクロロエタン
サンプル濃度:50~100g/l-solvent
パルス繰り返し時間:5.5秒
積算回数:6000~16000回
測定温度:120℃
上記のような条件で測定した13C-NMRスペクトルにより、エチレン、テトラシクロドデセンおよび芳香環を有する環状オレフィンの組成をそれぞれ定量した。
島津サイエンス社製、DSC-6220を用いてN2(窒素)雰囲気下で環状オレフィン系共重合体のガラス転移温度Tgを測定した。環状オレフィン系共重合体を常温から10℃/分の昇温速度で200℃まで昇温した後に5分間保持し、次いで10℃/分の降温速度で-20℃まで降温した後に5分間保持した。そして10℃/分の昇温速度で200℃まで昇温する際の吸熱曲線から環状オレフィン系共重合体のガラス転移点(Tg)を求めた。
移動粘度計(離合社製、タイプVNR053U型)を用い、環状オレフィン系共重合体の0.25~0.30gを25mlのデカリンに溶解させたものを試料とした。ASTM J1601に準じ135℃にて環状オレフィン系共重合体の比粘度を測定し、これと濃度との比を濃度0に外挿して環状オレフィン系共重合体の極限粘度[η]を求めた。
[プレス成形]
上記製造例13~21で得られたパウダーを、東洋精機社製のハンドプレス機を用いて、250℃の条件でプレス成形し、厚み2mmの角板試験片を作製した。
上記で得られた厚み2mm角板試験片に、ガンマ線20kGyまたは50kGyを照射した。
得られた厚み2mmの角板試験片と、ガンマ線照射直後の試験片の内部ヘイズを測定し、以下の基準で透明性をそれぞれ評価した。
内部ヘイズは、ヘイズ計(日本電色工業社製NDH-20D)を用い、ベンジルアルコール中でそれぞれ測定した。
〇:内部ヘイズが6.0%未満
×:目視で試験片が白濁しているもの、または内部ヘイズが6.0%以上
ガンマ線照射直後の試験片を、20mmの厚みで白色紙上に積み上げた。このときの色相および明度を目視評価した。
色相はマンセル表色系に準じた。評価の基準は以下のとおりとした。
○(良い):明度が7~9.5で、かつ、色相が5.0GY~10GYの間である。
△(普通):明度が5~9.5で、かつ、色相が5Y~5GYの間である。ただし、上記の○(良好)に該当する場合を除く。
×(悪い):明度が0以上5未満である、かつ/または、色相が2.5Y~5Yの間である。ただし、上記の△(普通)に該当する場合を除く。
明度については、その値が大きいほうが、白色に近く、変色が抑えられていることが明らかである。
色相については、特に医療容器として用いることを考慮した場合、黄色は患者に不潔な印象を与えるとして敬遠されることから、黄色より緑色のほうが好ましいとした。
ガンマ線照射5日後および1カ月後の試料のラジカル量は、電子スピン共鳴法(Electron Spin Rssonance(ESR))により測定した。
具体的には、20kGyおよび50kGyの線量のガンマ線を照射した5日後および1カ月後の試験片を約6mg切り出し、それを試験管(詳細は以下)に入れて、以下条件でESRスペクトルを測定した。
・共振周波数:9.2GHz
・マイクロ波入力:1mW
・中心磁場:326.5mT
・掃引幅:±15mT
・変調周波数:100kHz
・掃引時間:8min.
・時定数:0.1sec
・増幅度:25
・試料管:Xバンド対応の先端部石英の試料管
・外部照準:酸化マグネシウムに担持されたMn2+標準サンプル
・外部標準メモリ:0、700
・測定温度:室温
・測定雰囲気:大気
通常、ラジカル量の相対比較において、基準となるMn2+由来シグナルの面積はMn2+(第3シグナル)を用いる。しかし、有機ラジカル由来ラジカルのスペクトルと、Mn2+(第3シグナル)とが重なるため、今回の測定ではすべてMn2+(第2シグナル)を用いた(外部標準メモリ=700)。
また、有機ラジカル由来シグナルがMn2+(第3シグナル)と重なった場合は、外部標準メモリ=0のESRスペクトルを用いて算出した。
Claims (24)
- 炭素原子数が2~20のα-オレフィン由来の構成単位(A)と、
芳香環を有さない環状オレフィンから導かれる構成単位(B)と、
芳香環を有する環状オレフィンから導かれる構成単位(C)と、
を有する環状オレフィン系共重合体。 - 請求項1に記載の環状オレフィン系共重合体において、
前記環状オレフィン系共重合体中の前記構成単位(A)、前記構成単位(B)および前記構成単位(C)の合計含有量を100モル%としたとき、前記環状オレフィン系共重合体中の前記構成単位(A)の含有量が10モル%以上80モル%以下である環状オレフィン系共重合体。 - 請求項1または2に記載の環状オレフィン系共重合体において、
前記環状オレフィン系共重合体中の前記構成単位(B)および前記構成単位(C)の合計含有量を100モル%としたとき、前記環状オレフィン系共重合体中の前記構成単位(C)の含有量が5モル%以上95モル%以下である環状オレフィン系共重合体。 - 請求項1乃至3のいずれか一項に記載の環状オレフィン系共重合体において、
前記芳香環を有さない環状オレフィンが、下記式(B-1)で示される化合物を含む環状オレフィン系共重合体。
- 請求項1乃至4のいずれか一項に記載の環状オレフィン系共重合体において、
前記芳香環を有する環状オレフィンが、下記式(C-1)で示される化合物、下記式(C-2)で示される化合物、および下記式(C-3)で示される化合物からなる群から選択される一種または二種以上を含む環状オレフィン系共重合体。
- 請求項1乃至5のいずれか一項に記載の環状オレフィン系共重合体において、
前記環状オレフィン系共重合体からなる厚さ1.0mmの射出成形シートを作製したとき、当該射出成形シートのアッベ数(ν)が35以上55以下である環状オレフィン系共重合体。 - 請求項1乃至6のいずれか一項に記載の環状オレフィン系共重合体において、
示差走査熱量計(DSC)で測定される、前記環状オレフィン系共重合体のガラス転移温度(Tg)が120℃以上180℃以下である環状オレフィン系共重合体。 - 請求項1乃至7のいずれか一項に記載の環状オレフィン系共重合体において、
135℃デカリン中で測定される極限粘度[η]が0.05dl/g以上5.0dl/g以下である環状オレフィン系共重合体。 - 請求項1乃至8のいずれか一項に記載の環状オレフィン系共重合体において、
前記環状オレフィン系共重合体からなる厚さ1.0mmの射出成形シートを作製したとき、当該射出成形シートの複屈折が1nm以上200nm以下である環状オレフィン系共重合体。 - 請求項1乃至9のいずれか一項に記載の環状オレフィン系共重合体において、
前記芳香環を有する環状オレフィンが、ベンゾノルボルナジエン、インデンノルボルネンおよびメチルフェニルノルボルネンから選択される少なくとも一種を含む環状オレフィン系共重合体。 - 請求項1乃至10のいずれか一項に記載の環状オレフィン系共重合体を含む環状オレフィン系共重合体組成物。
- さらに親水性安定剤を含む、請求項11に記載の環状オレフィン系共重合体組成物。
- 請求項1乃至10のいずれか一項に記載の環状オレフィン系共重合体または請求項11若しくは12に記載の環状オレフィン系共重合体組成物を含む成形体。
- 光学レンズである請求項13に記載の成形体。
- 炭素原子数が2~20のα-オレフィン由来の構成単位(A)と、
芳香環を有さない環状オレフィンから導かれる構成単位(B)と、
芳香環を有する環状オレフィンから導かれる構成単位(C)と、
を有する環状オレフィン系共重合体を含む医療用容器。 - 請求項15に記載の医療用容器において、
前記環状オレフィン系共重合体中の前記構成単位(A)、前記構成単位(B)および前記構成単位(C)の合計含有量を100モル%としたとき、前記環状オレフィン系共重合体中の前記構成単位(C)の含有量が0.1モル%以上50モル%以下である医療用容器。 - 請求項15または16に記載の医療用容器において、
前記環状オレフィン系共重合体中の前記構成単位(B)および前記構成単位(C)の合計含有量を100モル%としたとき、前記環状オレフィン系共重合体中の前記構成単位(C)の含有量が5モル%以上95モル%以下である医療用容器。 - 請求項15乃至17のいずれか一項に記載の医療用容器において、
前記環状オレフィン系共重合体中の前記構成単位(A)、前記構成単位(B)および前記構成単位(C)の合計含有量を100モル%としたとき、前記環状オレフィン系共重合体中の前記構成単位(A)の含有量が10モル%以上80モル%以下である医療用容器。 - 請求項15乃至18のいずれか一項に記載の医療用容器において、
前記芳香環を有さない環状オレフィンが、下記式(B-1)で示される化合物を含む医療用容器。
- 請求項15乃至19のいずれか一項に記載の医療用容器において、
前記芳香環を有する環状オレフィンが、下記式(C-1)で示される化合物、下記式(C-2)で示される化合物、および下記式(C-3)で示される化合物からなる群から選択される一種または二種以上を含む医療用容器。
- 請求項15乃至20のいずれか一項に記載の医療用容器において、
示差走査熱量計(DSC)で測定される、前記環状オレフィン系共重合体のガラス転移温度(Tg)が120℃以上180℃以下である医療用容器。 - 請求項15乃至21のいずれか一項に記載の医療用容器において、
前記環状オレフィン系共重合体の135℃デカリン中で測定される極限粘度[η]が0.05dl/g以上5.0dl/g以下である医療用容器。 - 請求項15乃至22のいずれか一項に記載の医療用容器において、
前記芳香環を有する環状オレフィンが、ベンゾノルボルナジエン、インデンノルボルネンおよびメチルフェニルノルボルネンから選択される少なくとも一種を含む医療用容器。 - 請求項15乃至23のいずれか一項に記載の医療用容器において、
シリンジまたは薬液保存容器である医療用容器。
