Definitions
- the present invention relates to a multilayer container made of a polyester resin, and more particularly to a cup-type multilayer container excellent in gas barrier properties, interlayer adhesion and transparency.
- Polyester resins represented by polyethylene terephthalate are widely used in the field of packaging containers because of their excellent properties such as moldability, transparency, mechanical strength, and chemical resistance.
- a layer made of saponified ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer or polyamide is formed as an intermediate layer between inner and outer layers made of polyester resin.
- Multi-layer packaging materials are well known, and in such multi-layer packaging materials, it has also been proposed to add clay to the intermediate layer in order to further improve gas barrier properties (Patent Document 1).
- Patent Document 4 discloses a second component comprising a first component comprising a specific copolymerized polyester resin and a specific transamidation blend.
- a transparent polymer blend is described comprising an immiscible blend with components, wherein the difference in refractive index between the first component and the second component is adjusted.
- a blend of a polyester resin and a polyamide resin adjusted so as to have the same refractive index may be used even if the transparency of the blend itself is improved. Even in a cup-shaped container (sometimes referred to as a “cup-shaped container”) formed by thermoforming a sheet made of a product, excellent transparency is not obtained. That is, in the above molding method, at least a portion of the sheet corresponding to the side surface of the cup-shaped container is stretched in the axial direction.
- an object of the present invention is to have a multilayer structure comprising an inner layer and an outer layer made of a polyester resin and an intermediate layer made of a blend of a polyester resin and an aromatic polyamide resin, and has excellent transparency, gas barrier properties and interlayer adhesion. It is to provide a cup-type multilayer container satisfying all.
- RI E and RI A respectively indicate the refractive indexes after stretching the injection-molded plate composed of the low crystalline ethylene terephthalate-based polyester resin and the gas barrier aromatic polyamide resin three times in a uniaxial direction.
- a multilayer container is provided in which the difference in refractive index ( ⁇ RI) expressed by the formula (1) is 0.03 or less and the haze on the side surface of the container is 5% or less.
- the low crystalline ethylene terephthalate polyester resin is an ethylene terephthalate polyester resin containing 7.5 to 15 mol% isophthalic acid in the dicarboxylic acid component; 2.
- the low crystalline ethylene terephthalate polyester resin is an ethylene terephthalate polyester resin containing 15 to 30 mol% of cyclohexanedimethanol in a diol component; 3.
- the multilayer precursor is obtained by thermoforming so that the drawing ratio H / D (H: container height, D: container diameter) is 1.0 or more, Is preferred.
- the polyester resin constituting the intermediate layer which becomes a matrix for blending the aromatic polyamide-based gas barrier resin, has a refractive index close to that of the aromatic polyamide resin after stretch molding, and the above formula ( By selecting a low crystalline polyester resin in which the difference in refractive index represented by 1) is in the above range, the haze on the side surface of the container is not more than 5% while maintaining excellent gas barrier properties. is doing.
- the inner and outer layers from a crystalline ethylene terephthalate-based polyester resin, it becomes possible to impart a uniform stretch ratio to the intermediate layer using a low crystalline polyester resin that is inferior in stretching properties, and has excellent mechanical properties.
- a cup-type multilayer container having strength is provided. Furthermore, since the intermediate layer has a phase structure in which a polyester resin is used as a matrix resin, the interlayer adhesion between the inner and outer layers and the intermediate layer is excellent, and delamination due to a drop impact or the like is prevented.
- the blend of the low crystalline polyester resin and the aromatic polyamide resin used for the intermediate layer of the multilayer container of the present invention has a refractive index of the low crystalline polyester resin and the aromatic polyamide resin by being stretched at a desired magnification. Approximate.
- the refractive index of the low crystalline polyester resin and the aromatic polyamide resin before stretching is not adjusted, there is a large difference in the refractive index before stretching. In the state of the multilayer precursor, if the haze of the portion where the multilayer structure is formed is greater than 5%, the layer becomes opaque and the portion where the intermediate layer is formed can be visually recognized.
- the refractive index difference represented by the above formula (1) is 0.03 or less, particularly 0.026 or less.
- Low crystalline ethylene terephthalate polyester resin hereinafter sometimes referred to as “low crystalline PET resin”

Abstract
Description
ΔRI=|RIE-RIA| ・・・(1)
