Definitions
- Embodiments relate to a phosphor that emits light in the bluish green wavelength region, and a light emitting device package and an illumination device including the same.
- Phosphors act as a medium for converting the energy of the excitation source into the energy of visible light, and are essential for the image realization of various display elements, while the efficiency or color reproduction range of the phosphors is directly related to the efficiency and color reproduction range of display products and lighting products. It is a major factor.
- One of the diode elements emitting white light is a blue LED element.
- the blue light emitted from the device and the yellow light emitted from the phosphor are mixed with the blue light emitting device by applying the blue light as an excitation source, thereby forming white.
- the LED device emitting white light is a method of using a blue light emitted from the device by applying a phosphor to the LED and a secondary light source emitted from the phosphor.
- a method of obtaining white light by applying a YAG: Ce phosphor emitting yellow to the blue LED [ US Patent No. 6,069,440 is common.
- the above method has disadvantages in that efficiency is reduced due to quantum deficits and re-radiation efficiency occurring while using secondary light, and color rendering is not easy. Therefore, the conventional white LED backlight is a combination of a blue LED chip and a yellow phosphor, and the green and red components are lacking to express an unnatural color, and thus, the white LED backlight has been applied to a mobile phone or a notebook PC. Nevertheless, they are widely commercialized due to the advantages of easy driving and significantly lower prices.
- the conventional phosphor has a problem that the luminance of the phosphor decreases when it is exposed to an excitation source, and in recent years, as a phosphor having a low decrease in luminance, as a study of phosphors made of silicon nitride-related ceramics as host crystals, the crystal structure is stable, Nitride or phosphor attracts attention as a material capable of shifting the excitation light and the light emission to the long wavelength side.
- the present inventors have tried to solve the conventional problems, and as a result, by optimizing the components of cations and anions and their composition ratios, lattice not only in the homogeneous phase crystal structure at the thermodynamic synthesis temperature but also in the multi-phase
- the white LED is mixed by mixing the blue green light emitting phosphor of the present invention.
- the present invention was completed by fabricating the device and confirming the color rendering index and luminous flux improvement of the manufactured white LED device.
- the blue-green phosphor according to the embodiment may have improved brightness and thermal stability by an optimal combination of the composition ratio of the cations and anions contained therein, and may improve the luminance and the color rendering index of the light emitting device package including the same.
