Abstract

スペアタイヤを車室内に配置でき、後突時における衝撃エネルギの吸収量を増大させて乗員に対する安全性を向上するとともに、燃料タンク等を確実に保護することが可能な自動車の後部車体構造を提供するため、左右の後輪を支持するサブフレーム（１２）を左右のサイドシル（２，３）後方に配置してなる自動車の車体構造において、前記両サイドシル（２，３）から車体後方へ延びる左右一対のリヤサイドフレーム（６，７）と、前記両リヤサイドフレーム（６，７）の間において下方へ突出してなるスペアタイヤパン（１０）が形成されたリヤフロアパネル（１１）と、前記スペアタイヤパン（１０）の底壁に沿って前後方向に延びる少なくとも１本のリヤセンタフレーム（２１，２２）とを備え、前記リヤセンタフレーム（２１，２２）は、前記サブフレーム（１２）の部材の後方に前記サブフレーム部材（１２）と概ね同一高さに配置した。
