Abstract

本発明は下記の工程により、細長い形状を有するシリカゾルの製造方法を提供する。 (a) SiO2濃度1~6wt%、pH2~5 の活性珪酸コロイド水溶液に、水溶性のCa 塩及び/又はMg 塩を含有する水溶液を、SiO2 に対してCaO 及び/又はMgO の質量比が1500~15000ppm となる量で添加し混合する。 (b) (a)工程で得た水溶液に、アルカリ金属水酸化物、水溶性有機塩基又はそれらの水溶性珪酸塩を、SiO2 に対して所定のモル比で添加し混合する。 (c) (b)工程で得た混合物を85~200℃で0.5~20 時間加熱し、コロイド溶液を得る。 (d) (c)工程で得たコロイド溶液から水の一部を除去し、かつ水溶性のCa 塩及び/又はMg 塩を含有する水溶液に由来する陰イオンの少なくとも一部を除去する。 (e) (d)工程で得たコロイド溶液を、80~195℃でかつ(c)工程の加熱温度より低い温度で0.5~20 時間加熱する。
