  • the polyurethane optical material obtained by using the internal mold release agent of the present invention is suitably used as a plastic lens, particularly as a plastic lens material for spectacles.
  • Transparent resins are used in a wide variety of optical materials by utilizing transparency comparable to glass and higher impact properties than glass.
  • a polythiourethane resin one of the transparent resins, is molded by cast polymerization, the product cannot be obtained unless the resin is released from the mold.
  • polythiourethane resin is known as a resin with extremely strong adhesive force, and it is essential to use a release agent to release it from the mold. It is.
  • the mold release agent includes an external mold release agent that is applied to the surface of the mold using a spray or the like, and an internal mold release agent that is added in advance to the raw material monomer.
  • the external release agent is not only complicated in operation, but also has a problem that the release film is difficult to be constant and the surface accuracy is lowered. Therefore, the internal release agent is preferably used.
  • Conventionally known compounds as internal mold release agents include aliphatic alcohols, fatty acid esters, glycerides, fluorosurfactants, and higher fatty acid metal salts. There are drawbacks that it is difficult to mold, and that the inside or surface of the resin is likely to become turbid, and the transparency inherent in the resin is likely to be impaired.
  • Patent Documents 1 to 6 Describes that it is necessary to add an organic tin compound such as dibutyltin dichloride as a polymerization catalyst or a polymerization initiator as an additive other than the internal mold release agent.
  • organotin catalysts such as DBC (dibutyltin dichloride) and DBTDL (dibutyltin dilaurate) have been conventionally used because of their high catalytic activity. Is widely used. However, these organotin catalysts have recently been pointed out in terms of toxicity and safety.

  • regulations on the use of organotin catalysts will be strengthened not only in Europe but also globally. Development of highly safe and highly active catalysts that can replace organotin catalysts in the polyurethane market Has become essential.
  • a casting polymerization method is generally employed in which a polymerizable composition is injected into a mold and cured by heating. The polymerization reaction is carried out over several hours to several tens of hours while gradually raising the temperature. At that time, in order to obtain an optically homogeneous plastic lens, the polythioltanation reaction governed by heat is gradually advanced by the addition of a catalyst so that thermal non-uniformity does not occur during temperature rise. It is necessary to make it. In addition, the polymerization must be completed in order to fully draw out the resin properties such as optical properties, heat resistance, and strength.
  • the polymerization is performed before the prepared polymerizable composition is injected into the mold.
  • the reaction proceeds, that is, there is a problem that a sufficient pot life cannot be secured. Further, local heat generation occurs during polymerization, and optical nonuniformity is likely to occur in the lens. There was a problem.
