技術分野
本発明は、 ォ レ フ ィ ン重合用触媒に関する。
背景技術
— ジケ ト ン等の配位子が 3 個配位 したバナ ジ ウ ム化 合物 と、 有機ア ル ミ ニゥ ム化合物を組み合せたォ レ フ ィ ン重合用触媒は知 られて レ、 る。
一方、 該配位子が 2 個配位 したチ タ ンゃ ジル コ ニウ ム の化合物は知 られているが、 それ ら化合物がォ レ フ ィ ン の重合能を持つ とい う 報告はない。
本発明は、 β - ジケ ト ン等の配位子が 2 個配位 した遷 移金属化合物を一成分 とする ォ レ フ ィ ン重合用触媒を提 供する こ とを 目 的 とする。
本発明者 ら は鋭意研究を行っ た結果、 該遷移金属化合 物を、 有機ア ル ミ ニゥ ム化合物、 特にアル ミ ノ キサ ン 、 と組み合せる こ と に よ っ て本発明の 目 的が達成でき る こ と を見出 して、 本発明を完成 した。

(a) 一般式
〔式において、 M はチタ ン、 ジルコニウ ム、 ノヽ フニゥ ム若 し く はノくナ ジゥ ム、 Y1及び Y2は、 同一か異な るハ ロ ゲ ン原子若 し く は炭素数 1 〜 1 0 個のアルキル基、 , R 2及び R 3は水素原子若し く は炭素数 1 〜 1 0 個の炭化水 素基であ る。 但 し、 R1 , R2及び R3の少な く と も一 つは水 素原子であ るが、 全部が水素原子であ っ てはな らない。 〕 で表わ さ れる遷移金属化合物及び

発明を実施するための最良の形態

本発明の触媒は、 上記の遷移金属化合物(a) と有機ア ル ミ ニゥ ム化合物(b)とか らな る。
(a) 遷移金属化合物
遷移金属化合物(a) 〔以下、 化合物(a) と い う 。 〕 は、 前 記の一般式で表わ さ れる。
式において、 M 、 Y1及び Y2並びに R R2及び R3は前記 の通 り であ るが、 M は望ま し く はチタ ン及びジルコ ニゥ ム あ る。
Y1及び Y2がハロ ゲ ン原子の場合、 ハロ ゲ ン原子 と して は塩素、 臭素、 ヨ ウ素、 弗素が挙げ られるが、 塩素が特 に好ま しい。 又、 ア ルキル基の場合、 ア ルキル基 と して は、 メ チル、 ェチル、 プロ ピル、 イ ソ プロ ピル、 ブチル、 イ ソ ブチル、 セカ ン ダ リ ーブチノレ、 ペ ンチル、 へキ シル、
2 —ェチル— へキ シル、 ォ ク チル基等が挙げ られる。 Y 1 及び Y2が共にハ ロ ゲ ン原子の場合が特に望ま しい。
R 1, R 2及び R 3が炭化水素基の場合、 該炭化水素基 と し ては、 アルキル基、 シ ク ロ アルキル基、 ァ リ ール基、 ァ ルアルキル基が挙げ られる が、 望ま し く はア ルキル基で あ る。
ア ルキル基 と しては、 Y 1及び Y2で挙げたアルキル基の 中か ら選ばれる。 シ ク ロ ア ルキル基 と しては、 シ ク ロ べ ン チル、 シ ク ロ へキシル、 メ チルシ ク ロ へキ シル基等が, ァ リ ール基 と しては、 フ エ ニル、 ト リ ル、 キ シ リ ル、 ナ フ チル基等が、 .ア ルアルキル基 と しては、 ベ ン ジル、 フ エ ネチル、 3 — フ エニルプロ ピル基等が挙げ られる。

化合物(a)は、 必要に応 じて金属酸化物 と接触さ せて も よい。
用い られる 金属酸化物は、 元素の周期表第 ]!族〜第 IV 族の元素の群か ら選ばれる元素の酸化物であ り 、 それ ら を例示す る と、 B 203 , MgO , Α 1203 , Si02 , CaO , Ti 02 , ZnO , Zr02 , Sn02 , BaO , Th02等力 挙げ られる こ れ らの中で も B203 , MgO , Al 203 , Si02 , Ti02 , Zr02が望ま し く 、 特に A 1203 , Si02 が望ま しい。 更に、 こ れ ら金属酸化物を含む複合酸化物、 例えば Si 02- MgO Si02-Al 203 , Si02-Ti02 , Si02 - V 205 , Si02 - Cr 203 , Si02-Ti02-MgO 等 も使用 し得る。
上記の金属酸化物及び複合酸化物は、 基本的には無水 物であ る こ とが望ま しいが、 通常混在する程度の微量の 水酸化物の混入は許さ れる。
金属酸化物は、 使用 に当 っ て被毒物質を除去する 目 的 等か ら、 可能な限 り 高温で焼成 し、 更に大気 と直接接触 しない よ う に取扱 う のが望ま しい。
化合物(a) と金属酸化物 と の接触は、 通常、 へキサ ン、 ヘプタ ン、 シ ク ロ へキサ ン、 ベ ン ゼ ン、 ト ルエ ン 、 キ シ レ ン等の不活性炭化水素の存在下、 室温〜該炭化水素の 沸点以下の温度で、 0. 5 〜 2 0 時間、 両者を接触させる こ とに よ り な さ れる。 金属酸化物は、 化合物(a) 1 重量部 当 り 1 〜 5 0 0 重量部用レ、 られる。
化合物(a)は任意の公知の方法、 例えば特公昭 4 6 - 2 1 0 1 0 号公報に記載の方法に よ っ て製造する こ とがで さ る。
(b) 有機ア ル ミ ニウ ム化合物
有機ア ル ミ ニウ ム化合物 (b) 〔以下、 化合物(b) とい う 。 〕 と しては、 アル ミ ノ キサ ン及び一般式 R4 nAlX3-n で表 わ さ れる有機アル ミ ニウ ム化合物を使用 し得るが、 望ま し く はア ル ミ ノ キサ ンであ る。 特にスチ レ ン系化合物の 重合にはアル ミ ノ キサ ンを用い る のが好ま しい。

アル ミ ノ キサ ン は、 一般式 ~ " Al-0~ r で表わ さ れ ( 5 は炭素数 1 〜 8 個の炭化水素基を示す。 ) 、 通常 —般式 A1R5 3の有機アル ミ ニウ ム化合物 と水又は 2 個以 上の ヒ ドロ キ シ基を有する化合物を反応させる こ と に よ つて製造する こ とができ る。
有機ア ル ミ ニウ ム化合物の具体例 と しては、 ト リ メ チ ルア ル ミ ニウ ム、 ト リ ェチルア ル ミ ニウ ム、 ト リ イ ソ ブ チルア ル ミ ニウ ム、 ト リ へキ シルア ル ミ ニ ウ ム、 ト リ オ
ク チ ルア ル ミ ニウ ム、 ト リ フ エ ニルア ル ミ ニウ ム等が挙 げ ら れ る が、 こ れ ら の中で も 、 特に ト リ メ チ ルア ル ミ 二 ゥ ムが望 ま しい。
有機ア ル ミ ニ ウ ム化合物 と反応さ せる 水は、 通常の水 の他、 硫酸鉄、 硫酸銅等の結晶水 も 用 い る こ と ができ る 。
有機ア ル ミ ニ ウ ム化合物 と 反応 さ せ る 2 個以上の ヒ ド 口 キ シ基を有す る 化合物 と して は、 炭素数 2 〜 1 6 個の ジオ ー ル化合物、 単糖類が挙げ ら れ る 。
ジオ ー ル化合物 と して は、 エチ レ ン グ リ コ ー ル、 プ ロ ピ レ ン グ リ コ ー ル、 ピナ コ ー ゾレ、 1 , 2 — シ ク ロ へキサ ン ジオ ー ル、 1 , 4 ー シ ク ロ へキサ ン ジオ ー ル、 カ テ コ ー ル、 レ ゾル シ ン、 ヒ ド ロ キ ノ ン等が、 単糖類 と して は、 ソ ゾレ ビ ト ー ル、 グル コ ー ス、 エ リ ト リ ト ー ル等が例示で き る 。

本発明の触媒は、 エチ レ ン の他、 プロ ピ レ ン、 1 — ブ テ ン、 1 一 へキセ ン、 4 ー メ チル ー 1 — ペ ン テ ン、 1 — ォ ク テ ン等の 一 ォ レ フ ィ ン等のォ レ フ ィ ン類を単独重 合又は他のォ レ フ ィ ン類 と共重合す る こ とができ る 。 ま た本発明はォ レ フ ィ ン類 と して特にスチ レ ン化合物を包 含す る も のであ る 。
すなわ ち、 本発明の触媒で重合 さ れ る ス チ レ ン系化合 物の具体例 と しては、 スチ レ ン、 ひ — メ チルスチ レ ン、 0 — メ チ ルスチ レ ン、 m — メ チルスチ レ ン、 p — メ チ ル スチ レ ン、 0 , m — ジ メ チルスチ レ ン、 0 — ェチルス チ レ ン、 m — ェチルス チ レ ン、 p — ェチルスチ レ ン、 0 — ク ロ ルス チ レ ン、 p — ク ロ ゾレスチ レ ン等が挙げ られる 。

タ ン、 シ ク ロへキサ ン、 ベ ンゼ ン、 ト ルエ ン、 キ シ レ ン 等の不活性炭化水素中及び液状モ ノ マ 一中で行う こ とが でき る。 不活性炭化水素 と しては、 特にベ ン ゼ ン、 ト ル ェ ン、 キ シ レ ンが好ま しい。 重合温度は、 通常— 8 0 °C 〜十 1 5 0 。C、 好ま し く は 4 0 〜 1 2 0 °Cの範囲であ る 重合圧力 は、 例えば 1 〜 6 0 気圧でよい。 又、 得 られる 重合体の分子量の調節は、 水素若 し く は他の公知の分子 量調節剤を存在せ しめ る こ と に よ り 行なわれる。 又、 共 重合においてォ レ フ ィ ン に共重合させる他のォ レ フ ィ ン の量は、 ォ レ フ ィ ン に対 して通常 3 0 重量%迄、 特に 0. 3 〜 1 5 重量%の範囲で選ばれる。 スチ レ ン系化合物 の重合 も、 単独重合のみな らず他のスチ レ ン系化合物 と の共重合 ( ラ ン ダム重合、 ブロ ッ ク 重合) を行な う こ と ができ る。 本発明に係 る触媒系に よ る重合反応は、 連続 又はバ ッ チ式反応で行ない、 その条件は通常用 い られる 条件でよい。 又、 重合反応は一段で行っ て も よ く 、 二段 以上で行'つ て も よい。
実施例
以下、 本発明を実施例に よ り 詳細に よ り 説明す る。 実施例 1
十分に窒素ガスで置換 した 1 ^ のガラ ス製ォー ト ク レ ーブに、 3 0 0 の乾燥 した ト ルエ ン を入れ、 5 0 °Cに 昇温 した。 次に、 ビス (ァセチルァセ ト ナ ト ) ジル コ 二 ゥ ム ジ ク ロ リ ドを 2. 5 X 1 0 5 モル、 メ チルアル ミ ノ キ
サ ンをアル ミ ニウ ム金属 と して 2 5 ミ リ グラ ム原子導入 した。
系内に、 エチ レ ンガスを供給 して内圧を 1 気圧 と し、 攪拌下に 1 時間エチ レ ン の重合を行っ た。 触媒の重合活 性 ( C E ) は、 1 5 1 0 g κ g ■ Zr ■ 気圧 ' 時間であ つ た。 得 られたポ リ マー の数平均分子量は、 1· 5 4 X 1 0 であ っ た。 又、 重量平均分子量 と数平均分子量の比は 1 4. 6 であ っ た。
実施例 2
ビス (ァ セチルァ セ ト ナ ト ) ジル コ ニ ウ ム ジ ク ロ リ ド の代 り に、 ビス (ァ セチルァセ ト ナ ト ) チ タ ニウ ム ジ ク ロ リ ドを用いた以外は、 実施例 1 と同様に してエチ レ ン の重合を行っ た。 C E は 3 8 0 g / g · Τί · 気圧 · 時間 であ っ た。 生成 したポ リ マー の粘度平均分子量は、 2. 4 X I 0 6 であ っ た。
実施例 3
メ チ ルア ル ミ ノ キサ ン をア ル ミ ニウ ム金属 と して 5 ミ ル グラ ム原子用いた以外は、 実施例 2 と同様に してェチ レ ン の重合を行っ た。 〇 £ は 5 9 0 2 / £ ' 1^ ' 気圧 -

ビス (ァ セ チルァ セ ト ナ ト ) チ タニウ ム ジ ク ロ リ ドの 代 り に、 ビス ( 2 — メ チゾレ ー 1 , 3 — ブタ ン ジォナ ト ) チ タ ニウ ム ジ ク ロ リ ドを用 いた以外は、 実施例 3 と 同様
に してエチ レ ンの重合を行っ た。 C E は 1 1 7 0 g / g • T i · 気圧 · 時間であ っ た。
実施例 5
予め、 5 0 0 でで 6 時間焼成 したアル ミ ナ 3. 0 g の ト ルエ ンス ラ リ ー に、 ビス (ァセチルァセ ト ナ ト ) ジル コ 二ゥ 厶 ジ ク ロ リ ド 0· 2 g の ト リ ェ ン溶液を加え、 7 0 °C で 2 時間攪拌 した。 固体を分離 した後、 ト ルエ ン及び n 一 へキサ ンで十分に洗浄 し、 更に乾燥 した。 得 られた固 体 1 g 中の ジル コニウ ム含有量は、 9. 1 m であ っ た。
ビス (了セチルァセ ト ナ ト ) チ タ ニウ ム ジ ク ロ リ ドの 代 り に、 上記で得た固体を用いた以外は、 実施例 3 と同 様に してエチ レ ンの重合を行っ た。 C E は 2 6 0 0 g / g · Z r · 気圧 · 時間であ っ た。
参考例 1
ビス (ァセチルァセ ト ナ ト ) ジルコニウ ム ジ ク ロ リ ド の代 り に、 テ ト ラ (ァセチルァセ ト ナ ト ) ジル コ ニウ ム を用いた以外は、 実施例 1 と同様に してエチ レ ンの重合 を試みたが、 エチ レ ン は重合 しなか っ た。
実施例 6
十分に窒素ガスで置換 した 1 のガラ ス製ォー ト ク レ ーブに、 ビス (ァセチルァセ ト ナ ト) チタ ニウ ム ジ ク ロ リ ドを 0. 2 ミ リ モル、 メ チルア ミ ノ キサ ンをアル ミ ニゥ ム金属 と して 1 0 ミ リ グラ ム原子及び ト ルエ ンを 2 5 0 入れた。 ノ、。ラ メ チルスチ レ ン 1 0 0 を添カ11 して、 攪
拌下 5 0 °Cで 2 時間パラ メ チルスチ レ ンの重合を行っ た 触媒活性 ( C E ) は 7 6 0 g / g · Π · 気圧 ' 時間であ つ た。

十分に窒素ガスで置換 した 1 ^ のガラ ス製オー ト ク レ ーブに、 ビス ( 2 — メ チル— 1 , 3 — ブタ ン ジォナ ト ) チ タニウ ム ジ ク ロ リ ドを 0. 2 ミ リ モノレ 、 メ チルア ミ ノ キ サ ンをア ル ミ ニウ ム金属 と して 1 0 ミ リ グラ ム原子及び ト ルエ ンを 2 5 入れた。 スチ レ ンを 5 0 g添加 して 攪拌下 5 0 °Cで 2 時間スチ レ ンの重合を行っ た。 C E は
5 1 8 g / g ' Ti ' 気圧 ' 時間であ っ た。
実施例 8
十分に窒素ガスで置換 した 5 0 0 の フ ラ ス コ に、 ビ ス (ァセチルァセ ト ナ ト ) ジルコニウム ジ ク ロ リ ドを 0. 1 ミ リ モル及びメ チルア ル ミ ノ キサ ンをアル ミ ニウ ム 金属 と して 1 0 ミ ルグラ ム原子入れた。 パラ メ チルスチ レ ンを 2 0 0 g 添加 して、 攪拌下 5 0 でで 2 時間 ノ ラ メ チルスチ レ ンの重合を行っ た。 C E は 8 5 4 g / g ■ Zr · 気圧 · 時間であ っ た。
参考例 2
ビス (ァセチルァセ ト ナ ト) ジルコニウ ム ジ ク ロ リ ド の代 り に、 テ ト ラ (ァセチルァセ ト ナ ト ) ジノレ コ ニゥ ム を用 いた以外は、 実施例 3 と同様に してパラ メ チル スチ レ ンの重合を試みたが、 ノ、'ラ メ チルスチ レ ン は重合 しな

産業上の利用可能性
本発明の触媒は、 ォ レ フ ィ ン類、 特にエチ レ ンゃスチ レ ン化合物の重合において優れた重合触媒性能 ^示す。

〔式において、 M はチ タ ン、 ジル コニウ ム、 ノヽ フニ ゥ ム若 し く はバナ ジウ ム、 Y1及び Y2は、 同一か異な る ノヽ ロ ゲ ン原子若 し く は炭素数 1 〜 1 0 個のアルキル基 R1 , R2及び R3は水素原子若 し く は炭素数 1 〜 1 0 個の 炭化水素基であ る。 但 し、 R1 , R2及び R3の少な く と も 一 つは水素原子であ るが、 全部が水素原子であ っ ては な らない。 〕
