The accompanying photograph illustrates a face view of a carpet having my new design.
The letter H represents a slender branch,
bearing on it circular flowers and serrated leaves.
D is a flower figure containing a central bunch of circular flowers surrounded by leaves, and having projecting at one side a slender 2o stem, 0, resembling a species of grass, and

A is a flower group having projecting from it, on one side, the branch 6, bearing leaves shaped like clover-leaves, and on another side the branch f, bearing projecting deeply-serrated leaves, and from still another side the branch 9, bearing flowers divided into numerous slender projections.
O resembles a bunch of flowers surrounded by projecting leaves.
13 is a flower group having a center of open 3 5 flowers, and projecting therefrom, on one side,
the branch 13, bearing leaves divided into numerous points, and on the other side the branch 7c, bearing a circular flower and cloverlike leaves.
The figure a consists of a slender branch having on it a few scattered circular flowers and nearly devoid of leaves, with a background of small circles set closely together.
m is a background figure composed of a series of small rectangular figures shaped like a capital 8, set closely together.
1; is a figure for the background, composed of a series of small figures, forming incomplete parallelograms, interposed with dots and set closely together.
d is a branch projecting into the field of the pattern and bearing circular flowers and sparsely-scattered serrated leaves.
