DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SPECIFICATION formingpart of Design No. 13,088, dated July 25, 1882.
Application filed June 10, 1882. Term of patent 3} years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ARTHUR L. HALLIDAY, of Yonkers, in the county of Westchester and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for carpets and similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel grouping and configuration of parts hereinafter more fully described.
The accompanying photograph illustrates a face view of a carpet having my new design.
A is a flower-group, whose center consists of open rose-like figures surrounded by leaves and foliage, and from this center extends the branch I), on which grow serrated leaves and flowers, and, also, in the opposite direction ex;
tends the branch (1, on which grow rose-like flowers, beyond which extends a leafy spray, and from below the central roses of the group A extends a vine-like leafy branch.
B is a group composed of leaves and flowers, having extending below it the vine-like figure e, bearin g leaves and rose-like flowers, and having long slenderstems projecting from it, while on the other side of the group B extends thebranch d,bearing flowers resembling half -open rose-buds surrounded by leaves. The leafy spray f branches 0E from the group B near the branch d. On another side of the group B extends the leafy branch h.
The figure D consists of a rose-like central figure surrounded by leaves and having fernlike branches projecting on one side thereof. The figure 0 consists of a central flower, having projecting from it leaves and leafy sprays. The figure gis composed of two slender stems bearing leaves and flowers and crossing one another.
I claim 1. The design for carpets, consisting of the group A, containing figures a. and b, substantially as shown.
2. The design for carpets, consisting of the group B, containing figures d e f h, substantially as shown.
3. The design for carpets, consisting of the figure D, substantially as shown.
4. The design for carpets, consisting of the figure G, substantially as shown.
5. The design for carpets, consisting of the figure g, substantially as shown.
6. The design for carpets, consisting of the group A,containing figures a b; group B, containing figures d, e, f, and h; figure C, figure D, and figure g, substantially as shown.
