To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ARTHUR L. IIALLlDAY, of New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to anew and original design for carpets and similar fabrics; and it consists in the nor'el grouping and configura- [0 tion of parts hereinat'termore fully described.
The accompanying photograph illustrates a face view of a carpet having my new design.
A is a flower group containing a bunch of circular flowers, l), surrounded by leaves 0,
and ineloscd within an irregular frame coniposcd of a series of squares, (r, set alongside or upon each other.
B is a group composed of a vine like figure, which bears star-flowers It, leaves 1, circular 2o flowers c and d, and bud like flowers f. This vine Bis inclosed by a series of the squares a, which come near together at theeentral portion ofthe vine and leave larger open spaces at each end thereof.
D is a branch bearing flowers g and leafy branches i, and is also inclosed in a frame composed of the square figures a.
The whole efi'ect of the design is that of openings or frames formed by the closely-set Term 01' patent 25$ years.
