To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, \VILLIAM MeOALLUM, of South Orange, county of Essex, State of New Jersey, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to anew and original design for carpets and similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel grouping and configuration of parts, hereinafter more fully described.

The accompanying photograph illustrates a face View of a carpet having my new design.

G Bis a band, the two portions B and G being separated by a beaded border, and the lower portion, 13, of the band having ornamentation resembling twining leaves. D is a stripe, along the top of which runs a bordelf a, ornamented with a double row of figures The stripe D also contains a vine-like figure curving through it and consisting of slender tcndrils,on which appear the flowers r and I), also leaves e, and flowers t, s, and d. The whole effect of the stripe is that of a plain background, over which curves the vine bearing various flowers and leaves.
