DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,339, dated October 17, 1882.
Application filed September 21, 1882.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, An'rnnn L. HALLIDAY, of New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented a new and 5 original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to anew and original design for carpets and similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel grouping andconligura- [0 tion of parts hereinafter more fully described.
The accompanying photograph illustrates a. face View of a carpet having my new design.
B is a stripe containing an ornamentation of a series ofrectangular figures, a, set alongside 15 or upon each other like bricks, each figure a. bearingornamentationonitssurt'ace. Theband b separates the stripe B from the stripe 0, and contains an ornamentation of a seriesot' figures set side by side.
The stripe C is ornamented with flower-like figures,with squares having flower ornamentation thereon set at intervals.
The stripe D contains an ornamentation of flower bunches, e and (I, set alternately along 25 the stripe, and of a vine-like figure, 0, running along the top thereof. Below the stripe D is the band f, containing an ornamentation of a series of figures partly composed of fine dots set close together. The band 9, below the band Term 01' patent 3% years.

I claim 1. The design for a carpet, consisting of the stripe B, containing figures a, substantially as shown.

4. The design for a carpet, consisting of the figure (I, substantially as shown.
