Be it known that l, JOSEPH Wislun'r, of New York city, in the county and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, which formsa part of the same.
The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.
The accompanyingphotograph isa face view of a. carpet showing my new design.
My design is for a carpet-border. It has an inner ornamental margin. Its middle portion shows a half-panel or separated part, bounded partly by short right lines, with large circular flowers forming the rest of its border. Over the interior of the panel are scattered small ial No. 248,320. Term of patent 33 years.

The surrounding spacesin this niiddleportion are ornamented with small flower-and-leaf and other forms. Above this middle part of the border is an ornamental ures. Beyond this is an outer ornamental margin.
