To all whom it may concern:
lle it. known that l, JAMEs L. FoLsoM, a citizen olthe United States, and a resident of the city of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New Yt'i1'l(,lia.\'e invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.
The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.
The accompanying photograph is a face view of a carpet showing my new design.
My design consists of a body A and a border 13.
The body A is made upof panel-like divisions or parts bordered by minute gems or dots. Each panel has at its center a group of small eonventtionalized flower forms, and these are embedded in lea Yes of irregular shape occupyingthe greater part of the outer portion of the panel.
The border 13 has an inner margin of small ornamental figures. 'lhemain partof the border is composed of panel-like divisions having groups of flowers and leaves similar in character to those of the body A of the design. The outer part of the border is made up chietl) of line ornamentation.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
