DESIGN FOR A BROOCH.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 18,929, dated February 19, 1889.
Application Bled June 918, 1888. Serial No. 278,472y Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern: 1
Be it known that I, MEYER BALLlN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and origi nal Desi gn for Jewelry, which is fully set forth k in the following specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a par-t thereof, in which the ligure shows a plan 1 of my design applied to a brooch or other like piece of jewelry.
,The main features of my design are a dog sitting upon his hannches and a little child i sitting,- in front oi? the dog and holding a dish i ini its partially-extended arms.
ln the figure of the drawing, A represents a brooch or other like article of jewelry. Itis t-o the surface ornament-ation of this article thatrmy design relates. The brooch A is snrronnded by a suitable ornamental border, a, and has upon its face the representation of a 4 base, B, above which and represented fas resiing upon said base is a dog, C, arranged at one end of the base in the position shown, sitting upon his hannehes, while at the other end is a child, D, holding in its arms extended toward the dog a dish, E.
