DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,840, dated October 8, 1889.
Application filed September 10, 1889. Serial No. 323,560. Term nf patent 3% years.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM F. BROWN, a subject of the Queen of Great Britain, residing at Brooklyn, Kings county, New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.
The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein speoiically shown and claimed.
The accompanying photograph is a face View of a carpet showing my new design.
My design consists of the body A and ldie border B. The body A is composed of a number of leaf and flower forms and connecting stem-work. An irregular ornamentation forms abackground. The border B has an inner margin containing gem-shaped fiower forms and other flower and leaf forms. The outer margin is composed of scroll ornaments, and between the margins flower and leaf forms and stem-work are interspersed. An irregular ornamentation forms a background.
That I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. A design for carpets, consisting of the body A, substantiallyT as shown.
2. A design for carpets, consisting of the border B, substantially as shown.
3. A design for carpets, consisting of the body A and the border B, substantially as shown.
