DESIGN FOR A CARPET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,310, dated November 18, 1890.

Application filed October 20, 1890. Serial No. 368,743. Term of patent 8% years.

.To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JAMES L. FOLSOM, of the city of Brooklyn, county of Kings, and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.

The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces,such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.

The accompanying photograph is a face view of a carpet showing my new design.

My design consists of the body A and the border B. The body A consists of scroll-shaped and floral designs intermingled on a groundwork of shading. lhe border B consists of a marginal decoration of shaded scroll forms and of the scroll-shaped and floral forms running into a fringing of irregular leaf forms.

What I claim is- 1. A design for carpets, consisting of the body A, substantially as shown.

2. A design for carpets, consisting of the border B, substantially as shown.

3. A design for carpets, consisting of the body A and border B, substantially as shown.
