SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,304, dated November 18, 1890. Application filed October 20, 1890. Serial No. 368,737. Term of patent 3% years.

5 Design for Carpets,of which the following is aspecificat-ion, reference being had to the accompauying photograph, which forms a part of the same.

The invention relates to a design to be 10 worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.

The accompanying photograph is a face 15 view of a carpet showing my new design.

My design consists of a body A and a bordcr B. The body A consists of a ground of conventionalized leaf forms and of clusters of conventionalized flower forms scattered at intervals. The border Bconsists of a veinlike ornamentation within a ragged line and of a body of conventionalized leaf and flower clusters running into a ragged serrated edge ornamented at intervals with conventionalized flower forms and vein and dot shading.

\Vhat I claim isl. A design for carpets, consisting of the body A, substantially as shown.
