SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,608, dated March 24, 1891.

To all whom, it may concern.-

llc it known that I, HENRY \V. PAR'ION, a citizen of the United States, rcsidingat Yonkers. \Vestchester county, New York, have invented a newand original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.

The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets, or similar fabrics; and itconsists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.

The accompanying photograph is a face View of a carpet, showing my new design.

My design consists of the body A and the border B. The body A consists of sprays of ornamental flower and leaf forms upon an ornamented and somewhat shaded ground.

The bordcrliconsists of sprays of ornamented flower and leaf forms upon an ornamented and somewhat-shaded ground of an inner irregular marginal decoration or irregular branch-like effect.

\Vhat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. The design for carpets, consisting of the body A, substantially as shown.

2. The design for carpets, consisting of the border B, substantially as shown.

3. The design for carpets, consisting of the body A and the border ll, substantially as shown.
