DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,609, dated March 24, 1891. Application filed February 16, 1891. Serial Nu.381.714. Term oi patent 3% years To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY \V. PARTON, a border citizen of the United States, residing at Yon kcrs, Westchester county, New York, have inven ted a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.
The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.
The accompanying photograph is a face view of a carpet, showing my new design.
My design consists of the body A and the border B. The body A contains various leaf and flower forms intertwined and arranged about a group of somewhat poppy-shaped flower and leaf forms partly covering a balustrade supporting an urn. The ground is shaded and contains a cloudy effect. The B contains various flower and leaf forms intortwi ned and arranged about a group of somewhat poppy-shaped forms partly coveringa balustrade supporting an urn. The ground is of contrasted shading-the inner marginal ornamentation and an outer margin.
\Vhat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. The design for carpets, consisting of the body A, substantially as shown.
2. The design for carpets, consisting of the border B, substantially as shown.
The design for carpets, consisting of the body A and the border B, substantially as shown.
