DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,268, dated November 4, 1890.
Application filed October 10,1890. Serial No. 367,625. Term of patent 3% years.
.To all whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HENRY \V. PARTON, a citizen of the United States, residing at You kers, \Vestchester county,New York,have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.
The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces,such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.
The accompanying photograph is a face view of a carpet showing my new design.
My design is composed of a body A and a border B. The body A is composed of a large group of irregular flower and leaf forms embedded in a groundwork of shaded leaves and branch-work of very irregular design. The
border 13 consists of an inner margin of conventionalized gem forms. The middle portion is composed of a group of flower forms resting on a groundwork of shaded leaves and branehwork, and the outer margin is com posed of large irregular gem-shaped forms.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. The design for carpets, consisting of the body A, substantially as shown.
:2. The design for carpets, consisting of the border 15, substantially as shown.
3. The design for carpets, consisting of the body A and the border H, substantially as shown.
