HENRY W. PARTON, OF YONKERS, NEW YORK, ASSIGNOR TO THE ALEX. SMITH dc SONS CARPET COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,285, dated November 11, 1890. Application filed October 10,1890. Serial No. 367.637- Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I. HENRY \V. PARTON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Yonkers, VVestchester county, New York,have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying pho tograph, which forms a part of the same.
The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similarfabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.
The accompanying photograph is a face View of a carpet showing my new design.
My design consists of the body A and the border B. The body A is composed of large and small groups of leaf forms resembling maple-leaves and of branch forms, all lying on a shaded groundwork of leaf form. The
border B is composed of an inner margin having deep serrations, a middle portion of large and small groups of forms resembling mapleleaves and of branch forms, all lying on a shaded groundwork of leaf forms, and an outer margin having leaf forms. among which may be seen small gem ornamentations.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. The design for carpets, consistingofthe body A, substantially as shown.
2. The design for carpets, consisting of the border B, substantially as shown.
3. Th design for carpets, consisting of the body A and the border B, substantially as 35 shown.
