DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,262, dated November 4, 1890.
Application filed October 10, 1890- Serial No. 367,643. Term of patent 3% years To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOSEPH DOUZEL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Yonkers, \Vestchester county, New York, haveinvented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photo graph,which forms a part of the same.
The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.
The accompanying photograph is a face View of a carpet showing my new design.
My design consists of the body A and the border B. The body A is composed of groups of shaded and somewhat scroll-shaped leaf forms connected by scroll-like branches. The
border-B is composed of an inner margin con- 2o taining gem forms, a middle portion having groups of shaded and somewhat scroll-shaped leaf forms connected by scroll-like branches, and an outer margin of gem-shaped figures.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. The design for a carpet, consisting of the body A, substantially as shown.
2. The design fora carpet, consisting of the border B, substantially as shown.
3. The design for acarpet, consisting of the body A and the border B, substantially as shown.
