DESIGN FOR A CARPET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,283, dated November 11, 1890.

Application filed October 10, 1890. Serial No. 367.635' Term of patent 3% years.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, HENRY W. PARTON, a citizen of the United States, residing at You kers, VVestchester county, New York,have invented a newand original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.

The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.

The accompanying photograph is a face view of a carpet showing my new design.

My design consists of the body A and the border B. The body A is composed of groups of conventionalized leaf forms and conventionalized shaded flower forms on a shaded ground. Gem-shaped flower forms will be seen at irregular intervals. The border B is composed of an inner margin, a middle portion of conventionalized shaded flower forms and conventionalized leaf forms on a shaded ground, and an outer margin.

\Vhat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. The design for carpets, consisting of the body A, substantially as shown.

2. The design for carpets, consisting of the border B, substantially as shown.

3. The design for carpets, consisting of the body A and the border B, substantially as shown.
