DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SIECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,622, dated March 24, 1891.
Application filed February '7, 1891v Serial No. 380.656. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE J. STENGEL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Yonkers, \Vestehester county, New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.
The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.
The accompanying photograph is a face view of a carpet, showing my new design.
My design consists of the body A and the border B. The body A consists of conventionalized pond-lily and lily-pad forms connected by entwining stems upon a watery ground. The border ll consists of conven tionalized pond-lily and lily-pad forms upon a watery-appearing ground running into couirasted shading.
\Yhat Iclaini as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. The design for carpets, consisting of the body A, substantially as shown.
2. The design for carpets, consisting of the border 13, substantially as shown.
3. The design for carpets, consisting of the body A and the border ll, substantially as shown.
