DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,607, dated March 24, 1891.
Application flied February 7,1891. Serial No. 380,674. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY W. PARTON, a citizen of theUnited States, residing at Yonkers, \Vestchester county, New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.
The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.
The accompanying photograph is a face view of a carpet, showing my new design.
My design consists of the body A and the border B. The bodyA consists of somewhat root-shaped forms having branches protruding therefrom bearing leaf and flower forms and having protruding forms resembling fungi, all on a shaded ground. The border 13 consists of an inner marginal decoration resembling a log having protruding fungi-like forms and branches projecting into a ground of contrasted shading and an outer marginal decoration consisting of grouped flower, leaf, and branch forms.
Vhat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
l. The design for carpets, consisting of the body A, substantially as shown.
2. The design for carpets, consisting of the border B, substantially as shown.
3. The design for carpets, consisting of the body A and the border B, substantially as shown.
