DESIGN FOR A CARPET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,767, dated May 19, 1891.

Application filed April 22, 1891- Serial No 390,053- Term of patent 3%; years.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, PAUL PIGNOT, a citizen of the United States, residing in I'Iastings, \Vestchester county, New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, referonce being had to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.

The invent-ion relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.

The accompanying photograph is a face view of a carpet showing my new design.

My design consists of the body A and the border B. The body A consists of groups of convcntionalized flower, leaf, and branch forms upon a ground of contrasted shading. The border B consists of groups of convention- 2o alized flower, leaf, and branch forms upon a ground of contrasted shading of an inner and outer ornamental margin.

What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is- 2 5 1. The design for carpets, consisting of the body A, substantially as shown.

2. The design for carpets, consisting of the border B, substantially as shown.

3. The design for carpets, consisting of the 30 body A and the border B, substantially as shown.
