DESIGN FOR A CARPET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,305, dated November 18, 1890.

Application filed October 20 1890. Serial 110.368,?38. Term of patent 3% years.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that 1, JAMES L. FoLsoM, of the city of Brooklyn, county of Kings, State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.

The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.

The accompanying photograph is a face view of a carpet showing my new design.

My design consists of the body A and border B. The body A consists of groups of convcntionalizcd flower and leaf forms interlaced by somewhat scroll-shaped stems and of interposed gem forms. The border B consists of a margin of shaded scroll-work running into groups of conventionalized flower and leaf forms and of somewhat scroll-shaped shaded forms ornamented with gem forms.

What I claim is- 1. A design for carpets, consisting of the body A, substantially as shown.

2. A design for carpets, consisting of the border B, substantially as shown.

3. A design for carpets, consisting of the body A and border B, substantially as shown.
