DESIGN FOR A CARPET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design N 0. 20,316, dated November 18, 1890.

Application filed October 20, 1890- Serial No. 368,748. Term of patent 3% years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, HENRY HUNT, of Greenville, county of Hudson, and State of New Jersey, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.

The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and itconsists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.

The accompanying photograph is a face view of a carpet showing my new design.

My design consists of the body A and border B. The body A consists of ornamented scroll-work intertwined with leaf forms. The border B consists of afestooned marginal ornamentation and of ornamental scroll-work intertwined with leaf forms and of the distinct band ornamented with fan and gem forms and serrated as to its outer margin.

What I claim is- 1. A design for carpets, consisting of the body A, substantially as shown.

2. A design for carpets, consisting of the border B, substantially as shown.

3. A design for carpets, consisting of the body A and border 13, substantially as shown.
