DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part Of Design No. 19,028, dated April 9, 1889.
Application filed March 7, 1889. Serial No. 302,335. Term of patent 3% yeirs.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HENRY HUNT, a citizen of the United States, residing in Greenville, Hudson county, and State of New Jersey, have 5 invented a new and original Design for (larpets, of which the following is a specification,
reference being had to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.
The invention relates to a design to be IO worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets 15 View of a carpet showing my new design.
My design is composed of a body, A, and border B. The body is composed of conventionalized leaf forms mostly scroll-shaped in character. These leaf forms overlap and in- Groups of small gem-shaped flower forms are disposed between and upon the leaf forms. The border.
B has a lower margin of uniform small ornamental figures. Above this is a wide band having long slender leaf forms deeply serrated and curved in long sweeping curves, and having small gem-shaped flower forms armnged in groups about and upon these leaf forms. Above this is an outer band or mar gin, the lower portion of which is ornamented by small figures.
\Vhat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. The design for a carpet, consisting of the body A, substantially as shown.
2. The design for a carpet, consisting of the border B, substantially as shown.
3. The design fora carpet, consisting of the body A and the border 13, substantially as shown.
