To all whom it may concern:

Be it; known that I, HENRY HUNT, ofGreenville, New Jersey, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the fol- 5 lowing is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying photograplnwhich forms a part of the same.

The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets IO or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.

The accompanying photograph is a face view of a. carpet showing my new design.

My design consists, mainly, of escutcheon i5 shaped figures of broken outline surrounded with a fantastic scroll-work of leaves and stems hearing circular flowers. The leaves are long and slender and of very irregular outline and curve around the large figures. 20
