SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 18,152. dated March 6, 1888.

To all whom it may concern):
Be it known. that I, JAMEQ L. FOLSOM, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of NewYork, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets. of which the following is aspecification, reference being bad to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.
The invention: relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figuresherein specifically shown and claimed.
The accompanying photograph is a face view of a carpet showing my new design.
My design consists of several clusters of leaf and flower forms, the different clusters being connected by large scrolls having somewhat the appearance: of leaves. The clusters are composed of a principal flower form and one or more smaller flower forms, combined with a number of leaves; some of which are deeply serrated, while others have rough irregular outlines. Projecting from and connecting these clusters of flower and leaf forms are the long leaf shaped scrolls, from which project small twigs or stems bearing small leaves.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for carpets, consisting of the design substantially as shown.
JAS. L. FOLSOM.
