DESIGN FOR A CARPET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 18,133, dated March 6, 1883.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JAMES L. FOLSOM, of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and original 5 Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying photograph, which forms a. part of the same.

The invention relates to a design to be [0 worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.

The accom panying photograph is a face view 1 of a carpet showing my new design.

My design consists of a number of groups of rose-sh aped flowers and leaves, or of leaves and small flowers. Between the groups is a light stem-aud-leaf work made up ofsmall branches or twigs projecting from all sides of the groups 20 and bearingsmall leaves. Someof the branch ing stems bear small flowers or buds.

What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
