DESIGN FOR A CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,816, dated May 6, 1890.
Application filed April 11, 1890. Serial No. 347,541. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JAMES L. FOLSOM, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph, which forms a part of the same.
The invention relates to a design to he worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.
The accompanying photograph is a face View of a carpet showing my new design.
My design consists of a body A and a horder 1%.
The body A consists of flower and leaf by prominent scroll-like branches or stems. Some of the flowers are full blown, others are little buds, while small sprigs having leaves are scattered through the whole design.
The border It consists of an inner ornamental margin, a center part of flower and leaf forms, and prominent scroll-like stems, similar to those of the body A. The outer part consists of crown-shaped figures having gems with lines radiating from them and an irreg ular outline.
\Vhat I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
