SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 11,789, dated October 11, 1887.
Application filed August 30, 1887. Serial No. 218,317. Term of patent 3Q years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JOSEPH Wrsnancr, pf New York city, in the county and State of New York, .have invented a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying photograph,which forms a part of the same.
The invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets or similar fabrics; and it consists in the novel configuration and grouping of figures herein specifically shown and claimed.
The accompanying photograph isa face view ofa carpet showing my new design.
My design is for a carpet-border, and con: sists of an inner band having its edges curved so as to form an irregular wavy outline. This band is ornamented by a stem-work bearing circular flowers and leaves. The middle portion of my border consists of double sprays bearing leaves and flowers. The stem of the sprays is light and has two main branchesextending in opposite directions. The flowers are generally circular in form, and a number 2 work. The outer margin of the border-is"; plain in character, and is separated from the middle portion by a line of ornamental forms and small flower groups alternately arranged.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design fora carpet-border, consisting of the design substantially as shown.
