To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Nonrc KOMORI, a resident of New York city, in the county and State of New York, have invented and produced, by my own industry, genius, efforts, and expense, a new and original Design for a Carpet, of which the following is a full descrip tion, in connection with the accompanying photograph, which represents a face view of my new design for a carpet.

This invention relates to a new ornamentation of the face of a carpet, oil-cloth, or analo' gous fabric.

In the accompanying photograph are represented the various parts which enter into my new design.

A is a fan-shaped ornament having a. radial background and fanciful scroll thereon", which resembles a monogram formed of the letters J and V. B is another fan-like orna' ment having radial background and fanciful scroll thereon, which resembles the letter M and figure 2; C, another still different fanlike ornament having a scroll which resembles a monogram formed of the letters Y and N. D is another fan-like ornament having a scroll resembling a curved letter V. These four figures, A. B C D, form a group of the design, and between them are placed the floral figures E, F, and G. Near the figure D is also the fanciful figure H.

I is a fan like ornament partly covered by a serrated leaf, J, near which is placed another fan-like ornament, K, that abuts against the rosette L and leaf M. The figure K contains a scroll which resembles series of letters V. The leaf M is above a fan-like ornament, N, which connects by the serrated leaf with the rosette P. Beneath the fan-likc ornament K is also the partial rosette Q. The figure N has two undulating scrolls that are substantially parallel to one another.

I claim 1. The design for a carpet, the same consisting of the figure A, substantially as shown.

2. The design for a carpet, the same consisting of the figure B, substantially as shown.

3. The design for a carpet, the same consisting of ,the figure G, substantially as shown.

4. The design for a carpet, the same consisto ing of the figure D, substantially as shown.

5. The design for a carpet, the same consisting of the figure K, substantially as shown.

6. The design for a carpet, the same consisting of the figure N, substantially as shown.

7. The design for a carpet, the same consisting of the figures A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O,' P, and Q, substantially as shown.
