DESIGN FOR CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,279, dated February 8, 1898.
Application led December 31l 1897. Serial No. 685,238. Term of patent 3i years.

Be it known that I, EUGENE A. CROWE, a litizen of the United States, residing at Brookyn, in the county of Kings and State of New Kork, have 'invented and produced a new ind original Design for Carpets, of which the ollowing is a specification, reference being lad to the accompanying drawing, forming l part thereof, which represents a face View f a carpet in which my new design is emiodied.
The invention relates to a design to be vorked into or upon surfaces, such as carpets und similar fabrics; and it consists of the iovel conformation of the tigures, as herein Ihown and claimed.
The prominent feature of the design is a :'anciful composite figure A, embodying a ioral centerpiece, a border composed largely f palm scrolls of varying sizes, and leaf-scroll decorations for the border. Near one end of the-composite figure A the half-sections B and B of another composite figure are drawn, the composite figure shown in two parts differing materially from the complete composite iignre A only in the arrangement of the centerpiece, in which the character of the floral decoration is different. Near the opposite end of the complete composite figure A repeats C and C of the border of the sectional composite figure are shown. Between the composite figures iioral pieces are displayed.
