DESIGN FOR CARPET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,430, dated September 27, 1898.

Application filed July 22, 1898. Serial No. 686,687. Term of patent 3% years.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, NELSON SANFORD STEW- ART, a citizen of the United States, residing at Amsterdam, in the county of Montgomery and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Carpets; and I do hereby declare that the drawing accompanyingthis specification gives and conveys to any one skilled in the art of carpet weaving a clear understanding of the same that is sufficient to enable such persons to use my invention.

My invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon carpeting or similar fabrics.

The said drawing is a face viewof a carpet embodying my design.

The drawing illustrates a body and a border. The bodyis in its aspect of ornamentation floral and moss effect. The border is in its aspect of ornamentation floral and moss effect with scroll.

What I claim, and desire to secure byLetters Patent, is

1. In a design for carpeting, the body substantially as shown and described.

2. In a design for carpeting, the border substantially as shown and described.

3. The design for carpeting, consisting of the body and the border, substantially as shown and described.
