DESIGN FOR CARPETING.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,339, dated August 1, 1899.

Application filed July 3, 1899. Serial No. 722,777. Term of patent 3% years.

To all whom it may concern;

Be it known that I, NELSON SANFORD STEW- ART, a citizen of the United States, residing at Amsterdam, in the county of Montgomery and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design to be orked into or upon Carpeting or Similar Fabrics; and I do hereby declare that the drawing accompanying this specification gives and conveys to any one skilled in the art of carpet-weavin g a clear understanding of the same that is sufficient to enable such persons to use my invention.

The said drawing is a face view of the carpet embodying my design, which consists of scrolls in the renaissance style and bunches of flowers and leaves arranged and treated as shown in the said drawing.

What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

The design for carpeting substantially as shown and described.
