SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,428, dated September 27, 1898.

To all whom it may concern:

Beit known that I, NELSON SANFORD STEW- ART, a citizen of the United States, residing at Amsterdam, in the county of Montgomery and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Car pets; and I do hereby declare that the drawing accompanying this specification gives and conveys to any one skilled in the art of carpet-wfialaving a clear understanding of the same t at is sufficient to enable such persons to use my invention.

My invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon carpeting or similar fabrics.

The said drawing is a face View of a carpet embodying my design.

The drawing illustrates a body and a border. The body is in its aspect of ornamentation scrolls and flowers in renaissance style. The border is also in its aspect of ornamentation scrolls and flowers in renaissance style.

What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. In a design for carpeting, the body substantially as shown and described.

2. In a design for carpeting, the border substantially as shown and described.

3. The design for carpeting, consisting of the body and the border, substantially as shown and described.
