To all whom it "my concern:

Be it known that I, CHARLES FREDERICK GEDNEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design to be \Vrought into \Vilton and other Carpeting in such Coloring as may be Designed, of which the following is a specification.

This invention comprises two partsnamely, the design A fora carpet-body and the design 15 fora border; and Ido herebydeelare that the drawing accompanying this specification gives and conveys to any one skilled in the art of carpet-weavingand manufacture a clear understanding of same, and is suilicient to enable such person to use my invention.

The bodyA is decorated with outline scrolls with floral ornaments. The body B shows similar scrolls and fiorals as in body, together with larger ornamental figures.

'hat I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. In a design for a carpet, the body A, substantially as shown.

2. In a design fora carpet, the border l,substantially as shown.

3. The design for carpets, consisting of the body A and the border I3, substantially as shown.
