DESIGN FOR CARPET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,414, dated June 18, 1895.

Application filed March 4, 1895. Serial No. 540,632. Term of patent 3% years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, AROHIBALD FERGUSON REDDIE, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia. and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Carpet or other Fabric, of which the following, taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, is a specification.

My design is illustrated in the accompanying drawing in which a. is the body, b is the border, and a and b a complete carpet.

Observers of the accompanying drawing will readily understand that which I desire to protect by Letters Patent and that which imparts a peculiar or distinctive appearance to the carpet to which it is applied.

Obviously my design may be applied to or Wrought in velvet, Brussels, \Vilton and other carpet fabrics and presented in various colors or shades or tints of colors and when so applied serves to distinguish such articles from others of like class and causes them to em body my invention.

The leading or characteristic feature of my design may be said to be striped scrolls, as c, contrasted with solid scrolls, as d, and diamond shaped ornamentations e, and the flowers f, and in the drawing, associated with bands g and h.

What I claim as new, and desire to secure ARCIHBALD FERGUSON REDDIE.
