To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, AROHIBALD RREDDIE, residing at Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have 5 invented and produced a new and original Design fora Carpet or other Fabric, of which the following, taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, is as'pecification and description.
to In the accompanying drawing A, is the body; B, the border, and A and B, a complete carpet, and said drawing conveys the efiect upon the eye in such manner that a clear understanding of that which constitutes myin- 15 ventien and imparts a peculiar or distinctive appearance to the carpet to which it is applied, is readily understood by an inspection thereof.
Obviously my design for a. pattern may be 20 applied to a Wilton, Brussels, velvet or other carpet in such colors as may be designed and will impart a peculiar or distinctive appearance thereto, so that the same will embody my invention and be readily distinguishable by reason of their eifeot upon the eye of an 25 observer.
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. In a design for a carpet, the body A, snbstantially as shown. 0
2. In a. design for a carpet, the border B, substantially as shown.
3. The design for a. carpetconsisting of the body A, and border B, substantially as shown.
