SYECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,048, dated September 15, 1896. Application filed July 30,1896K Serial Nu. 501,103. Term of patent 35 years.

To all whom, it may concern.'

lie it known that I, A.\'.\`.\ lx'. HAY, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Carpet or other Fabric, of which the following is a specification, reference being had more particularly to the accompanying drawing, illustrating the same and forming part hereof.

The leading feature of my design may be said to be conventional flowers combined with conventional ferns, substantially as shown in the drawing.

In the drawing, a is the body, b the border, and a b the complete carpet.

c are conventional flowers, and (l are eon ventional ferns.

The design of my invention may be applied l ioor wrought in Wilton, velvet, lrnsscls, in grain, or other carpeting and in such colors or combinations of colors as may be required.

\\'hat I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. In a design fora carpet, the bodyo,si1b stantially as shown.

In a design for a carpet, the border Il, substantially as shown.

3. The design for aearpet consisting of the body o, and border I), substantially as shown.
