SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,793, dated October 26, 1897.

To all whom it 71m 1 I'OIHY'I'II/ Be it known that I, ARTHUR MIDDLETON ROSE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Yonkers, in the county of Westehester and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Carpetor other Fabric, of which the following is a specification, reference being had more particularly to the accompanying drawing, illustrating the same and forming part hereof.

The leading feature of my design is a ehintz pattern of vinework of roses and leaves.

In the drawing, a is the body, I) the border, and a b the complete carpet.

c is the vinework of roses (Z and leaves 6, arranged in a ehintz pattern, as shown.

The design of my invention will be best understood by reference to the accompanying drawing, and it may be expressed in any desired colors or combinations of colors and applied to velvet, \Vilton, Brussels, or other carpeting.

What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. In a design foracarpct, the body, substantially as shown.

2. In a design fora carpet, the border I), substantially as shown.

3. The design foraearpet consisting of the body a, and border 12, substantially as shown.
