DESIGN FOR CARPET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,048, dated September 15, 1896. Application tiled July 30,1896. Serial No. 601,101. Term of patent 3l years.

To all whom it may concern.-

eit known that I, ANNA K. MAY, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Carpet or other Fabric, of which the following is a specification, reference being had more particularly to the accompanying drawing, illustrating the same and forming part hereof.

My design is of oriental character and its leading feature is damask work, combined with ornaments, substantially as shown, all consisting mostly of straight lines.

In the drawing, a is the body, b the border, and a b the complete carpet. c is damask work, and d are ornaments, the whole consisting mostly of straight lines.

The design of my invention may be made t0 appear upon Brussels, Wilton, ingrain, Velvet, or other carpeting, and it may be represented in such colors and combinations of colors as are desirable.

That I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. In a design for a carpet, the body a., sulr stantially as shown.

2. In a design for a carpet, the border 1J, substantially as shown.

3. The design foracarpet eonsistingoi the body a, and border b, substantially as shown. In testimony whereof I have heren nto signed my name in the presence of two witmesses.
