SPECIFICATION forming part Of Design No. 25,369, dated April 7, 1896.

To all whom it may concern:
lie it known that I, ARTHUR MIDDLETON ROsE, a citizen of the United States, residing at the eityof Yonkers, in the county of Westehester and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design fora Carpet or other Fabric, of which the following, taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, is a specification.
My design is illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which A is the body, B the border, and A and B the complete carpet.
Ordinary observers of the accompanying drawing will readily understand that pattern or ornamentation which I desire to protect by Letters Patent and which imparts a peculiar or distinctive appearance to the carpet to which it may be applied.
Obviously, my design may be applied to or wrought upon velvet, Brussels, \Viltons, and other carpet fabrics and presented in various colors or shades or tints of colors, and when so applied serves to distinguish such colors from others of like class and causes them to embody my invention.
The leading or characteristic fcaturesof my design may be said to be the ornamental thing a displayed upon the background I) and associated with floral ornaments c.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. In the design for a carpet the body A, substantially as shown.
2. In a design fora carpet the border 13, substantially as shown.
3. The design fora carpet consisting of the body A, and the border 13, substantially as shown.
