SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,623, dated August 20, 1895. Application filed July 12, 1895. Serial No. 555,772. Term ofpatent 3% years.

To all whom it may concern..-

Be it known that I, AROHIBALD F. REDDIE, a citizen of the United States, residing at'the .ity of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Carpet or other Fabric of which the following, taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, is a specification.

The design of my invention may be fully represented by illustration. Accordingly, for a description of it reference is made to the accompanying drawing, in whicha is the body, I) the border, and a h the carpet.

My design may be produced in various c01- ors or combinations of colors and applied to Brussels, Wilton, velvet, and other carpet, and its leading or characteristic feature or features may be said to comprise hieroglyphiclike ornaments c, displayed upon the irregularly shaped and ornamented tablets d, and in the drawing associated with a background e and with bands or stripes f, g, 71 '2 and It.

What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is

- 1. In the design for carpet the body a, substantially as shown.

2. In adesign for carpet the border I), sultstantially as shown.

3. The design for carpet consisting of the body a, and the border 11, substantially as shown.
